Lawnmower accident

Ouch, that's a real shame for something like that to happen.

I suppose it is a very small consolation to know that the young usually stand the best chance for a recovery and adapting to such a drastic event and the impact it will undoubtedly have for the future.

The resilience and bravery of a child should not be underestimated in adult terms.

I hate to be insensitive but who mows their garden lawn with a £3000 industrial mower, and with kids around?

If this is true, and I have reasonable doubts, then I feel very sorry for the little girl. :(

Dont know weather to belive it or not?

Anyway, why on gods name do you have such a big, stupid lawnmower for?

If you are using such a big lawnmower you should be keeping all children, dogs etc.. in the house out of the way, no questions asked.

I agree, it's a bloody £3000 industrial mower. Football pitch style mower.

Don't see why this was in someone's garden in the first place, never mind with family around.

Maybe someone with a lot of grass:

That's the view from the OPs house as posted here:

Well, first of all the OP's brother was using the mower and not the OP. Could still be a big garden though.

Secondly, why were there kids anywhere near a £3000 industrial lawnmower?

Edit: Just to clarify for a second time, I do have a lot of sympathy.

Im deeply disappointed, but somehow not shocked, at the reactions in this thread. I think you all need to grow up a little.

My condolences are with your family kvfb97

Nope. Nothing in the newspapers, television or radio.

It may not necessarily reach them for a few days, if at all though.

Well my father heard about it at work this afternoon. So there you are, are you all happy?

Cant believe some of you didn't believe him.

I don't see a reason why it should be in the news at all

kvfb97, truly sorry for the responses in this thread. It's a shame what a little anonymity can do to people who I'm sure are decent anywhere else. This isn't something to joke about.

My heartfelt sorrow for this terrible accident. At the end of the day a little girl has lost her legs, that's awful. Thoughts are with you, your brother, his daughter and the rest of your family, don't take any notice of the low lives in here.

An accident that could have so easily been avoided with a little common sense.

Jesus, give it a dam rest. It has happened now, theres no point talking about what they could have done.

I am 100% sure none of you do what you are suggesting in this thread.

I would love to see you cutting the grass, i bet your child is outside playing at same time.

Nope, these people lock their children up with a ball and chain, no fun for them.
