Another new FW for me this morn.
Do you have G-Sync enabled in Nvidia control panel? There is a setting where you can set it on desktop use also.Hi all,
Been having an issue using the above card on my LG C2 where the screen is intermittently flickering (see included video). I've tried numerous HDMI 2.1 certified cables but still having the same issue. Just wondered if anyone else had a similar problem? Using my internal GPU for now as it's getting really bad which works fine, it will just randomly start happening there is no pattern to it. I've started the RMA process with the retailer, card is just under 6 months old. Not sure if it's faulty port or something more sinister.
Thanks

I had problem with flickering with my LG 42" C2 and RTX 4090 when I played Star Citizen and game was in loading screen.
I disabled G-Sync and this flickering stopped. There was some firmware update which should help with this, but I haven't tested it yet.
Hello everyone, I've been following this forum for a long time and so I don't see a better place for my question.
Do you update your TVs?
I had a C2 42 unit that was bad at white uniformity and had the red tinge in the upper left corner in near dark scenes, like at 5% gray and something like that. I have a replacement now and that is a significant improvement. The white is now consistent when sitting in the center and looking at the entire screen and the pink tint is almost non-existent and is only noticeable at angles that won't be looked at at all during use.
My use is exclusive for computer, desktop in general and games and so far I haven't touched the update, it's as it came and the firmware is standard out of the box. I have the calibration settings recommendations from TFTCentral and I have disabled TPC and GSR in the service menu which for me is a must.
So, it's perfect for me and I don't know any bugs yet during this exclusive use on computer for 3 days of use now. And thinking about what I went through with the previous unit that was bad, I'm even afraid to touch this one that is perfect for me at the moment. Sometimes people mention that something fixed and something broke in the update, like changes in brightness, contrast, color and other worse things. Well , I do not need to fix what is not broken if you know what I mean .
But what do you have to say to me? Should I update anyway? During that time was there anything major that came in the updates that I should be concerned about and go ahead to update?
Sorry for my English , I still can not get through English without needing a little help from google translate , so I 'm just sorry .
Thanks
Thanks ! I thought there might be some more critical problem detected and that it was fixed in this period of updates.I guess it depends on your direct use, if you are watching streaming services like amazon, netflix etc and plugging in games consoles to it you would imo benefit from updating the firmware of your TV set.
If its just a PC monitor use, probably not so much especially if nothing is wrong and everything is working ie resolution, refresh rate, color etc
Lots of people claim when they upgraded their firmware they saw a brightness drop or its suddenly brighter etc, this I reckon is a bit of an placebo effect as in its not so true you can't really compare side by side when this happens after all.
There is a newer issue in place more recently, 2023 LG series have removed the service menu and TPC/GSR function all together, but LG has tweaked it so its no longer required for their 2023 series there is rumour/talk LG may do the same for 2022 series TVs via a new firmware but if they tweak it so its not an issue who knows. So people are currently checking other people if their new firmware has removed those features or not... so far no removal of TPC/GSR yet even on the latest firmware that came out last 2-3 days ago.
This maybe important for all C2/G2 customers so might be worth checking if the firmwares good and does not remove those features if you use them.

This reassures me and I'm going to keep this version that came with it since I use it exclusively for PC use and so far I haven't encountered any problems.
There really are people asking about TPC/GSR out there with fear of removal in the updates they release and the ones that follow. I don't know if there is any way to revert the firmware on these LG TVs, maybe it's not possible, but I think from now on who prefers to have TPC/GSR disabled in the service menu and doesn't want to risk whether or not LG will remove it from there , in order not to miss it, it is good to disable automatic updates in the general menu for the time being.
Hey Guys,
Is there a windows display driver for this TV?
Been using mine for a while and just realised its showing up as using a generic monitor - LG TV SSC2 driver
Checked the LG site and can only see a large 1.4GB file which looks like its firmware.
Cheers
FYI 03.30.68 is available from LG support,
No list of changes though, had to download it manually and install it from USB as my TV has been sat on 03.30.67 and not picking up the newer release
I drive mine with an M1 macbook + lenovo usb-c dock, I can get 120Hz out of the dock or 60Hz out of the laptop. It's very usable. Is anyone using this as a full time monitor with an m1 macbook? Just wondering what refresh rate you get (assuming 60)? Also how is the text rendering? I've had a 40 tv as my main monitor for a few years, but looking for an upgrade that the kids can also use in the evening when I'm not using my office
Long shot this but might as well ask, anyone have the C2 mounted above monitors on a desk, monitors for work and C2 for gaming?
I can tilt my chair back but worried it will be too high
Cheers
I have mine wall mounted above my desk but its not my daily driver monitor but on the side of my 28" tft, its not an issue for myself but am fairly tall and my seat is up on its max position you do have to get that eye level height right other wise you don't want to have neck or eye strain. Several others in the past mentioned its tricky if you are close to the screen (less then 1 metre) since you have to move your head more to cover that distance almost from left to right.
The above is one of the reasons I still feel 42" to big for a daily monitor but many others found its fine. For reference I sit back 1.3 metre back roughly from both my 28" and 42" c2.
To be fair its very tricky to describe it, one of those things you need in front of you too really tell if its good or not for you but I would have felt tilting the chair back may not work, if the chairs height adjustable or your desk is low or better yet the desk is height adjustable it makes life better for the 42" size screen.
Ok thanks, yeah my setup is none of those things, I changed my monitors setup in preparation for ordering and straight away I can tell it'll be too high.
I can mount it on the wall to my right and just use it for gaming, I can just turn my chair to face it, that wall is about 85cm away so not too close, would probably still need to find a mount that gets it as close to the wall as possible and be able to tilt it down slightly so I can have it quite high up.
Going around in circles trying to find a screen that'll cater for my setup or Xbox and work, driving me insane!
Yup sure can make one insane, I found measuring out the distance of the 42C2 (36" by 21") cutting out a cardboard cut out and sticking it where I wanted
just to get a vague idea of the scope and size of it may help. If you do find a wall mount with tilt I think its going to add some inches away from the wall, might be a good idea to go into brick or solid wall or at least the wooden battons behind the plasterboard of your wall.
It's an external wall so should hit brick but the plaster is ancient and crumbles when trying to fit plugs for shelving so I would need to make sure a wall mount hits the brick.
Good point on the tilt, probably better to find something as flush as possible and just mount it a bit lower.
Either that or a stand but I don't have the room and they are ugly
Maybe I should just get the Samsung G7 for the desk and use it for work too
