LG 42-inch OLED

Its a tricky time to get the 42" OLED really, the QD-OLED appears to be delivering what its set out to do and that is fix the normal OLED issues.

Only issue is manufacturers are just so slow and don't know what consumers actually want, they might take years before we get an 42" QD-OLED.
Why is it a tricky time? It's unlikely there will be 42" QD-OLED this year and we don't even if there even will be a 48". It's an endless waiting thing and considering all the crap going on around this globe, I'm not gonna wait another more years.

Samsung doesn't want our money so they can **** off. 34" ultrawide is a big no to me. I don't understand why they refuse 32" 16:9 QD-OLED but it's their choice.

As expected - not much difference at all vs CX/C1. Same coating on the Pig so to speak, how beautiful she may even be :D

Not a chance I will get the overpriced C2. Will definetly wait until some QD OLED - 42 or such arrive. Well if not Samsungs NEO G8, will blow me away. But I expect not, as it's sadly the same ole LCD tech with new - MiniLED - coating= same ugly Pig underneath most probably!

Alas video made up my mind too with Vincent's feedback though on the larger sizes combined with LG releasing EU price specs now. I am giving my C9 to parents so was waiting for the C2 77", alas 77" C1 for £2450 from costco was not a bad price for delivery next week. based on not much of an uptick and EU prices.

To be fair to Samsung, they likely do want the money. Reality is with a new tech, they are maturing the fab process still and working on yields. While 34" may not be ideal for you, plenty of gamers do love the ratio, myself included. It will be snapped up by buyers no problems. Will see new sizes and what have you as time goes on, just like anything else as it matures.

Think I'm gonna give up on the 42C2, just can't get past the price since for the same money I could easily get the 48C1 and a very decent soundbar...

Really regret not just preordering the 48C2 when JL had that free soundbar with it.

Need to see them in the flesh but I suspect after this purchase I'll be looking for a QD-OLED for the main TV from now on. Not sure why people are hoping for a 42" 4K OLED anytime soon, whenever that exists it's gonna be even sillier money.

ps3ud0

Yep they can go **** off I say to!
How much I try to - force myself latest week playing on my PG279Q, I just cant live with the smal vertical fov. All objects are way to smal to get immersed - for me!

And the 34 UW is the same crap lov vert fov as my PG27. So **** it. And im no lover of the UW format eaiter. Tried to like it doing custom UW res on my CX55, but hell no. 16:9 is king and will Allways be. Thats why it's the standard ;)

We just have to wait buddy. 32 and up, then I will go for it!

Yeah I agree its just going to feel really crappy if they release an QD-OLED 42" in the next year or two. But I think as you say with the world falling apart, its now or never.

QD-OLED monitors is off for me, its not 4K and can't stand curved tech, if it was 4K, 38 inches and flat id consider it over the 42" OLED.

That is fair. I feel the same, but as I was telling FickleMike, these are things I can look past to due to the advantages you get like brighter screen and less likely to get screen burn and the warranty that covers it. We will soon see I suppose. First need to secure one at a discounted price as I am not paying a four figure sum for it.

Yeah price is pretty steep, if you want to get that 1K price tag you could do all the bank switch promos and it will get you the LG C2 42" for 1K.

I am onto my 5th one so far been doing it for last year, getting ready for the 42" OLED.

I wonder how much it does translate it to euro but for now it's a waiting thing. I won't be surprised if €1399.
Anyway, I'll want to get it this year. Next year is out of question.

If I was going for that I would just wait until price drops as I can’t be asked with the bank thing personally. But it is of course nice option to have if you want it now. For me I will just hope the Dell voucher I have works.

The official prices have been leaked but should be out in next few weeks formally to confirm hopefully. A across the board increase in general: That said something obvs going on with 42" and 48" so far at John lewis. I suppose the price increase vs last year for some SKU's takes into account higher across the board living increase costs / material etc sadly LG OLED TV prices have been revealed for Europe - brace yourselves | What Hi-Fi? (whathifi.com)

C2
• 42-inch €1650 (N/A)
• 48-inch €1800 (€1650)
• 55-inch €2300 (€2000)
• 65-inch €3200 (€2800)
• 77-inch €5400 (€5300)
• 83-inch €7500 (€8000)

Yeah you are right, all these videos and reviews should be taken with some salt especially comparison videos that is why I mentioned a bucket of salt in the review above, Its a big issue with any TV or Monitor reviews, but at the same time can understand everyone wants to see the differences even if they can't!
My apology didn't see it:)

All I want is a 32" 4k monitor, be it OLED or Micro-LED.
Micro-LED is long off

You gotta be ****** kidding! I guess I gotta postpone the display upgrade.

€1650 converted to UK is still £1,363, almost close to £1399 Mr lewis and Mr Richer price tag.

Yeah its a pitta to get the Direct debits for these bank switches, but Paypal is easiest one and you can use it for every new bank switch account. Plum and money box are 2 others quick DDs or just use OnepoundDD and cancel the DDs once each bank paid up the bonus. If you did Santander, first direct, Lloyds bank switches you could make £450, that makes the LG C2 42" OLED @ £949.

I wish we had that here in the Netherlands... The other crap are the cost additions like the insurance for 3 and 5 years. If above 1K or 1200, price for the insurance will increase too.
It sure puts me off for sure lol. If 42" is already €1650/£1399, then I can't see the 42" QD-OLED to be priced the same or cheaper. Anyway, I guess I'll wait till October or something.

Well guys you Should probably settle for the 32 -G8 then!
No microled in years but this May be good enough!
4K - 32 inch and 240hz. Damn this sounds good. But I dont know about the crazy curvature - 1000R. And I never used a curved monitor before!
So this sounds scary as fuXX!

Nah, curved monitors tends to have blobs of backlight bleeds. Although I would like the BenQ EX2710R or other VA monitor that has great contrast ratio and would only buy it from a store with good return policiy.
Scamsung their G series are plagued with horrible QC and it's basically gambling. For now I'll just keep an eye on the price drops of the 42C2.

Yeah I get that and I know all about the hell the G7 owners went thru. Crazy how Samsung could release such a broken product. But also not that supprised. All Samsung Tv's I tested before going OLED - CX. They all had issues as hell. So yeah, better stay clear of them!

C2 42 at BF, should be the best to do :)
Will sit tight and game on my CX until then. Think I never can go back to POS LCD ever again..LOL!

That's why the name 'Scamsung'. I can't believe Scamsung can get away with this bs. So many broken G7 series and I don't wanna know about the G5 and G8 series.
How is it possible there is no class-action suit about this?? I won't be surprised if Scamsung will be in crapstorm again if QD-OLED got QC issues too. But waiting for 42" QD-OLED? Not gonna happen.
42" OLED it is for now. I would like Sony 42" OLED but 1st: overpriced/too expensive and 2nd: crappy firmware updates and way too late with features. 42C2 for now.

LCD....lol It stands for Lowkey Crap Display.
