LG 42-inch OLED

That's why the name 'Scamsung'. I can't believe Scamsung can get away with this bs. So many broken G7 series and I don't wanna know about the G5 and G8 series.
How is it possible there is no class-action suit about this?? I won't be surprised if Scamsung will be in crapstorm again if QD-OLED got QC issues too. But waiting for 42" QD-OLED? Not gonna happen.
42" OLED it is for now. I would like Sony 42" OLED but 1st: overpriced/too expensive and 2nd: crappy firmware updates and way too late with features. 42C2 for now.

LCD....lol It stands for Lowkey Crap Display.

Well spoken buddy, really nailed it all!
Yeah one look at AVSFORUM for an e.x on Samsung Tv threads - all are plaqued with Extreme issues. Totaly agree - how can these Scamsung get away with it. Really baffles ones mind!

Oh exactly I get it -not worth waiting for the Sony QD eaiter. As you say; overpriced and allways late to the party with features. Just now these Sony Clowns added VRR. What a joke!
The irony: Sony dont care about gamers!

Lowkeycrap Display - LOL YEAH

Yeah, from what I've read, the VA from Scamsung has great contrast and I really value that. I want the nights and dark scenes in movies and games to be dark as intended and not like grey as with IPS.
But I'm not gonna play gamble on that, not worth the effort and time to keep trying and returning. Someone at LTT contacted me about the endless rebuy/return, he even added the costs on dead pixel free insurance and so on.

Another issue I got with Sony is the lack of native support for 1440p. And Sony their response? "Not popular enough but we'll add that if popular enough" Lol seriously?? It's been a while but if my memory still serves me right, it was about PS5 resolutions supports and performance. We can add that resolution in our GPU drivers tho but still a stupid choice from them. LG on the other hand has native support for 1440p and according to rtings, LG got the highest score on the 'image retention'. LG for gaming and also movies/series too because Expert presets to enhance the colors and all.

LCD must die, seriously lol

And the Scamsung thing, I'm a bit afraid I'll say that without thinking when I'm looking around in physical store asking which phone and people will hear me lmfao.

Yea. Only stuff from them I buy is their mobiles which I think they do take seriously and do well in. Not that I buy brand new anymore. These days I get a mates hand me downs after a year or two :cry:

I purchased a Samsung cooker many years ago and not only did it keep breaking, their customer care was a bit crap. Essentially even though it kept breaking over and over again they were just waiting for the two year warranty to run out so they could wipe their hands clean. I complained to Curry’s and got them to give me a full refund and take their junk back. Purchased a Beko one instead and not had a single issue in years. Even a microwave a family member has which is Samsung has issues. They are serious killing their brand image. I certainly do not see them as a premium brand like they used to be and for the most part avoid their stuff outside of areas they excel in.

I may even consider paying the extra for two years warranty extension with Dell if I manage to get this monitor if the cost is not eye watering. At least I will have 5 years of piece then :)

Wow, I actually had no idea Scamsung has crappy service and QC on other departments than display! I thought only on monitors and tv's. I thought it was me but indeed, they used to be a premrium brand and now they've gone to crap. They also nerved the performance on a lot of apps on their S21 or S22, I don't which one but the benchmarking apps are not nerved... Not surprised but had no idea they can go THAT LOW!

If all those **** moves keeps going on, then I don't see any good things about their QD-OLED.

Yeah. Shame they seem to be going down hill. With regards to the Alienware QD-OLED, not a problem for me. If I don’t like it I will send it back or sell it without making a loss. If I am happy with it then I will have the warranty from Dell. So can’t lose really :)

Speaking of QC my LG OLED broke down within 3 months light use, I don't know if Sony's are any better but I did email them a month ago to ask if the offer an OLED panel swap service and I got zero reply from their Customer tech team, so it appears pretty poor.

So I think LG are the only manufacturers to offer the OLED Panel swap service, that is something important especially if retailers wash their hands of responsibility and say burn in not covered. Not that there should be able burn in naturally.

I have had a Samsung TV panel replaced after 3 years light use also, 1 Samsung 24" LCD broke down after 5-6 years heavy use which I repaired myself for 83p.

I was tempted to try Sony for 2022, but need to see the price tag first but am guessing it will be £200-£300 more then the LG.

My LG OLED TV started getting blank screens randomly where audio would continue. Gave them a call and they sent out two guys who changed the PSU which solved the problem. Been over a year since no issues :)

Are you cursed! With broken down TV/Monitors:D

Looking forward to the C2 42". Interesting to see how much reinforcement/thickness it has on the back of the unit, compared to CX/C1 48". Should make it more like a monitor in terms of strength when it comes to transport it etc.

The official prices have been leaked but should be out in next few weeks formally to confirm hopefully. A across the board increase in general: That said something obvs going on with 42" and 48" so far at John lewis. I suppose the price increase vs last year for some SKU's takes into account higher across the board living increase costs / material etc sadly LG OLED TV prices have been revealed for Europe - brace yourselves | What Hi-Fi? (whathifi.com)

C2
• 42-inch €1650 (N/A)
• 48-inch €1800 (€1650)
• 55-inch €2300 (€2000)
• 65-inch €3200 (€2800)
• 77-inch €5400 (€5300)
• 83-inch €7500 (€8000)

Prices out for some models and chucked in order for the 77" C2 now, will pair with 42" baby down the line I think as I game more on bigger screen. LG C2 55 inch 4K Smart OLED TV | LG UK

55" = £1,899
65" = £2,699
77" = £3,499
83" = $5,499

For larger models, its actually cheaper (77 and 83) while the smaller ones sadly are more expensive at launch vs C1. But yeah always be best if you can wait to wait until BF onwards.

55 C1 at launch = 1.7k (C2 @ 1.9k)
65 C1 at launch = 2.5k (C2 @ 2.7k)
77 C1 at launch = 4k (C2 @ 3.5k)
83 C1 at launch = 7k (C2 at 5.5k)

Alright and well happy for those who goes super big then :)
I was shooting for the 42 inch. Need some desktop love, and about time as I just cant touch my PG279Q since going CX55 - with all that OLED superiority, and of course a 27 is way to small right now. It's tiny. So a 42 will be great!

I already have a 55" OLED tv to watch movies, series and news on it and it's way too big. 42" is the sweet spot for immersion.
Also not surprised, everything in this ****** globe has been increased in price.

I would keep an eye out for LG's own site if your happy getting it from there. They did 2% off the base price and then if its your first order another 5% off. Knocked my C2 order down by £250 in all. If my math is correct on the 42" if they offer it up for £1400, would save around £100 ish, so not cheap but may make it more palatable. Oddly though, not able to pre-order the 42" and 48" direct from them yet like the bigger models.

Yeah keeping an eye out on LGs pre order site due to that 5% discount offer, Mr currys has the bigger screens up also and so has Mr Richer Sounds. Would be awesome if one of them can put on that proper discount like £100 off but probably too early for that.

This is a worry with global existing prices increasing but not sure we have seen it just yet with electrical items, gas, electricity, oil naturally maybe food next.
