His main purpose was advisement the monitor he was using and he must have seen the OLED have a glossy screen when he took out of the box. Like I said another YouTube rant idiot:D

He didn't rant in that video? Far from it, he really likes the screen! Impression I got was that if it wasn't for the headaches, which he attributed to sitting so close, he'd still be using it. Not everyone would want to change their desk to fit the monitor.

The screen being glossy is exactly the sort of thing a review/overview should highlight! It's videos like that which people watch when doing their homework.

The problem with the LG OLEDS is the fact that you need an HDMI 2.1 card to run it. So if you buy an LG OLED you need to spend at least another £650 on a gfx card (unless you buy a 4k TV to run 1440p). 3080's you cant buy easily so take the plunge and go £1500 for a 3090. So to play OLED's at native resolution you need to spend £2k minimum. Expensive purchase if you cant get or afford a 3080 or above for 4k.

Rubbish, you don't need a 3080/90 2.1 card to run this OLED a GTX 1080TI run's it without any problems @4K, HDR at 120hz someone didn't do their homework,

Advertising a niche £1500 monitor that is sold-out and out of stock every where? :p Unlikely.. it’s like advertising an RTX3080 FE..
if you watch his original CX video he was loving it,this is a follow up video and imo his honest genuine experience. again I don’t care about reflection part,or any other criticism he had, only post it because of size/distance issue. It’s not great for all setups.and not everyone can/want change their whole desk/setup to use a 48” TV on it. ofcouurse I’ll never go and pay same money for a LCD monitor, but I will wait for a 42” CX (or better). when 42” arrives,no one will be buying the 48 as monitor.I’m pretty sure about it.:)

The 42inch ins't a CX, :D

So you are saying just because you bought a OLED TV now you are some form of god and you know everything and everyone who complains is stupid? :D Ok...
I did play AC Odyssey as a demi-god do that count!;), I did my homework before I bought my OLED TV and if youtubers don't understand OLED then yes they're stupid

Oh right, why was everyone limited to 1440p @ 120hz before the new cards came out then? They fix the TV for older cards can do 4k 120hz VRR with firmware update?

HDMI 2.0 runs 4k @120hz with CX, can we stop this bickering this is the CX owner thread

your limited to 420 with the older 2.0 hdmi
Yes I know, HDMI 2.0 4k @120hz YCbCr 4:2:0 technically fits into 18Gbps bandwitdh if I run 4K/60 4:4:4 but drop HDR, or 4K/120hz 4:2:0 (drop the 4:4:4)

Picked my 48CX6LB to replace my 49" Ultra Wide which died and love it. Its sat on my 80cm deep desk and I've got my PC, Mac Mini, Work Macbook and Xbox Series X connected to it. The picture quality is superb, as I expected from an OLED having one in the living room, but have been really impressed with using it at 4K on the Macs. The desktop real estate, compared to the 5120 x 1440p i find more useable as the height is less of an issue than the extra width. Considering wall mounting it, but to be honest with it being less wide and less deep than the old monitor I'm not over concerned at the moment.

Games look brilliant and I'm really enjoying using the Xbox with it and having the full 48" screen rather than the half size 27" view from the Ultra Wide and the racing games I play on the PC look brilliant.

Overall extremely impressed and to get it with the combination of cashback, discounted and discount vouchers and refund for about 150 more than the monitor that failed has been refunded for means I'm really happy.

The 42inch ins't a CX, and I'm no follower of youtubers:D
it maybe not named CX as CX is now last years model, but it almost 100% will have CX specs (or better) because it’s going to be gaming focused.
I’m still not completely against 48”,I might even pick one up despite not having/wanting a huge desk, but I’m happy to pay upto £1600 for 42” version vs £1300 for the 48”..

basically you can’t run 120hz, 4k in full 4:2:2, 10bit colour on hdmi 2, you need 2.1. You could drop to 60hz and gain back 10bit.

so, really, to get the best out of this cx oled you need a 3080 / 3090 series card.

I can’t understand someone paying £1400 for this display without first owning a much more important 3080/3090 GPU that cost from £650.

Whilst that is true that you need a new HDMI 2.1 gpu to get the best from these, it's not really required or a waste of money if you are still on an older gpu.... People with lower end cards will still get all the superior benefits of oled and in many ways, it's more important than having the latest and best gpu on the market:

- oleds superior IQ along with true blacks
- proper HDR support
- the epic motion clarity
- a superb scaler where even 1440 still looks super detailed and clear

If given the choice, I rather have oled with a lesser/older gpu and game at 1440 (even 1080P still looks very good) than have a 4k lcd display and the best gpu there is.
