LG Flatron W2600HP 26

They have probably been told by the same person at LG they'd be getting the right model and as you'll also probably know - it's been pulled by them as well.

LG obviously aren't going to be instant with this as a) it's going to cost them a good chunk of money and b) they're short on stock of the S-IPS panels (our original dates were based on the TN).

My aim is to sort this out so we're not leaving customers with no monitor and I'll be in constant talks with LG to resolve the matter as soon as I can but everyone must realise this isn't going to be the quickest problem to solve.

Naughty Slackworth, how dare you have a holiday.;) Having looked at what has been posted on another forum, it looks like it would have made no difference anyway, as there seems to be have been some sort of a mis-understanding in regards to the part number by LG's own sales staff.
I would have bought one of these as it would've been a bargain, however I think they're going to cost somewhere between £500 to £550, which is way above what I'm willing to spend. This is obviously going to cost LG either way, if they sell them at £300 they apparently make a loss, if they don't then people like me will buy something else or stick with what I have.

Just out of interest, what about those people who pre-ordered and don't look at this forum? Have they been told about the situation?

No mention of those of us who have pre-ordered getting our money back while we wait for an indefinite amount of time for a monitor that might never materialise. I don't think that I am at all out of line (and I think others would agree) by saying that you should be returning our money with no quibbles. I still want to retain my pre-order in the hope that I might eventually get one of these monitors but there is no reason for overclockers to keep my money under the pretence that it is required to secure my order. Is it even legal to charge for goods when a delivery date is not known? Payment should only be taken when goods are ready to be dispatched.

If it wasn't legal they wouldn't do it! Other companies do the same thing. As mentioned previously it's all in the T&C's which you haev to agree to when you place the order.

I do agree that those pre-orders that aren't forum members should be contacted about what's happening, but since Slackworth's only just back from his hols give him a chance! :D

Should be somewhat cheaper than HP LP2475W.

I sincerely hope so, I've seen them advertised in the price range I stated and although bigger than the HP, the LG has somewhat less connectivity. I have no great urgency to upgrade as I have a perfectly functioning monitor at the moment, however I do want to upgrade to a 24" or 26" S-IPS sometime in the future, I'm not too bothered about extra connectivity, but input lag is a concern.

hols are a good idea. Or else you run the risk of going bat poo! How was it? Refreshed and ready to kick ass?

Was good thanks :)

We've been in contact with people off the forums too.

We'll gladly refund anybody who wants to cancel their order but I can't refund the balance and keep your order open (it's the way our system works).

Looking for a 24"(+) IPS panel. Thought the LG was it.
Now looking at the Dell UltraSharp U2410 24". But a bit pricey.

My thoughts exactly, Dell is my only other option really but its a bit £££.

I have no doubt that you will honour a refund no worries and I suspected that the payment being taken straight away was a result of "the system" rather than you being a bunch of money grabbers. This mess up is clearly not your fault but I am disappointed that this is how your system works as I feel all it does is frustrate people. You should have a system where by pre-orders are noted and card details taken but payment is delayed until dispatch and you should proudly advertise that that is how you do things...it can only be good for your reputation and will mean customers will be kept happy even if they have to wait for products to arrive. No ones likes to pay a crap load of money up front for something and not be given a date when they might expect to get it! I hope you take this as the constructive criticism that it is meant to be.

I can't see them being cheaper than the HP personally mainly due to the size and going on the previous revision prices. Like Bat says, about 500 - 550.
They're cheaper than HP here in Finland and also in Germany.
You forgot that HP has lot more connections requiring more electronics and it's primarily increase of pixel count/resolution which makes LCD panel more complex and expensive to manufacture. (remember cheap price of TVs vs. their size)
