be careful. . . at this price they may not hang around long once in. If you miss out you'll kick yourself when ppl start posting here how good they are.
Have got around to pre-ordering. Unlikely anything else better, within the price range I consider acceptable will appear on the net.
I am reasonably patient...
- Normal horizontal gamma shift problem of VA-liquid crystal:The new sammy 23" looks nice, shame about the 1080 res though. Has anyone seen cPVA panels side by side with an ips screen!
On the opposite they've been lagging behind advance in other components for long time.I could have held off for The Next Big Thing but displays are advancing so quickly there will always be something better just on the horizon.
That won't happen ever unless necks of marketing clowns are in guillotine for assuring thruthfulness of their productions.I long for a day where monitors are assumed to be colour accurate and all you pay more for is size and ergonomics.
I'd probably go back to the DELL 2209 as my best option if the LG2600 never materializes.
If I pre-order from OcUk do they charge your account straight away?
Yes, it appears that they do although they shouldn't
Would someone at OCUK care to explain why they think it's ok to take my money before they even have the product themselves let alone before dispatching it to me? If they could give a definite date of when I would have it then I might be more obliging but since all they can tell me is "we don't know, delivery has been delayed again" it doesn't fill me with too much confidence. I'd like to support OCUK rather than one of the big competitors (I was going to order a bunch of stuff to build a PC in the not too distant future) and I'm willing to hold out for a while to get it, maybe even a few weeks, but I'd rather keep hold of my £300 in the mean time thanks.
Not cool.
They're not even comparable. The W2600HP is 26" and has a resolution of 1920x1200, while the LG 50PS3000 is a 50" plasma with a resolution of 1920x1080 - the difference in pixel density is obviously extreme and the price difference doesn't warrant it if your primary usage will be your PC. Not to mention plasmas are well known for their issues with image retention. I've never understood the fascination with using large panel TVs with computers, apart from how much cheaper they are than a comparably sized PC monitor. However, if you're mostly interested in movies / TV instead of gaming then it's a different story. Personally I don't see the value in it.I now can't decide between this and using a TV, the LG 50PS3000 is now £700. OK, so it blows away my budget but it should be great for games!
