London pollution & ULEZ

Yep, its one of those things that is just endemic of people who don't give a **** about their local area and its a very strong indicator that you are a scumbag of a human if you intentionally do it.

Its depressing walking around my local area and not being able to walk more than a few metres without seeing litter. You don't notice much of it but if you actually look for it you realise that its everywhere.
Well if they had more bins, and more bin collections it would change.

Our system is design to fine you.

I love how people think putting their rubbish next to an overflowing bin is an acceptable way to dispose of their rubbish. Why not just take it with you if it doesn't fit in the bin?!
Love to know where you are storing rubbish on a super bike.
Anyway stop trying to be clever and get back on topic.

Yeah, why try and sort out people's health now when they can just carry on being made ill for another 15 or 20 years, anyway

there's no real evidence, just possible, tfl are bunch of liars. Their local surveys are fraudulent, they did a survey just before low pollution neighborhood. We asked them why no one on the roads and those that live near were ever contacted, we know they weren't because we spoke to everyone, there. TFL spilled the beans by accident..

So yer when it comes to TFL they do what they want.

It is also true that combustion engines are complicated and have many expensive parts that can fail at any time.
Electric cars are too damaging to the environment.

The production phase of electric vehicles proved substantially more environmentally intensive," the report said, comparing it to how petrol and diesel cars are made.

"The global warming potential from electric vehicle production is about twice that of conventional vehicles."

In addition, producing batteries and electric motors requires a lot of toxic minerals such as nickel, copper and aluminium.

Hence, the acidification impact is much greater than that of conventional car production.

Thanks, I was just curious about the electric battery, I own a car I know an engine has many parts that can fail.

They are quite pricey though (electric battery) if one needed replacing I believe.

No, littering is a mindset issue, not a facilities issue.

People who care about their/our environment will keep their litter on them until they can dispose of it in a way that does not ruin things for everyone else.

The rest just do not care.

That's why we have bins. Council do not want to have bins, bins collections cost them money and at the same time they can fine you.

Manufacturers claim they last longer than the car, but it isn't true. You'll find Teslas and other EVs only around 10 years old which have had the batteries replaced. When has anyone ever seen a battery last as long as an engine.

Now why would they do that? Oh wait.... loads of people drive to Chessington World of Adventures theme park from far away. Yes please ££££

Wouldn't lots of people driving somewhere increase pollution also?

As for Thorpe Park not getting included, isn't it in Surrey and not London?

Is it true an electric cars battery only lasts about 5 years at most and then it costs about 10k+ to replace it?

Not at all. They lose about 2-2.5% of their capacity per year on average, so a 5 year old car will still have 85-90% of its range.
So what is it then?
Bull****?

eight years or 100,000 miles.

That's the warranty most manufacturers give, not what they can actually do.

Tesla 85D after 100k miles, range has dropped by 10 miles.
