LOST..... How do you think it will end

Not watched Lost for this last season, can someone tell me if this finale answered all questions? Need to know! Ha

No, not a single one, or at least not fully!!!

I'm extremely disappointed, I wasn't expecting the answer spoon fed to me but I was expecting more than this.

Lost was set to be my favorite series ever, however with such a disappointing ending that isn't going to happen now, is it?!

I was waiting for Locke/MIB/FLocke to get back up. How can the smoke monster not be in the finale?! He was dealt with too easily.

The finale seemed to only deal with the sideways aka purgatory something the writers assured us Lost wasn't about. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the flash sideways BUT lost is so much more than that, so much didn't get answered.

I don't think the ending is as "open to interpretation" as the writers or fans would claim, I think its very clear what the ending implied.

I am disappoint but have still thoroughly enjoyed the show season 1-2 4-5

Anyone got any better ending ideas?

Mine was this:

Samual L. Jackson turns up with a empty briefcase, shoots MiB and Jack, puts the 'light' in briefcase, turns out it was the prequel to Pulp Fiction all along.

If you dig deeper other than questions like 'why does smokie flicker' then you'll begin to like it.

It's still possible to like the show yet be annoyed at the fact that they basically said none of the stuff that they initially played off such as the Dharma Initiative which were quite a large part of the show, didn't really matter and all that was important was the light.

Also, what was the point in the side universe, all it really seemed to do was provide a means for the writers to waste time. Near as I could tell they were all dead in the side universe or it was some form of nexus point between worlds and ultimately served no purpose other than for them to say 'hi' one last time. Why waste over half a season on something that doesn't exist and has no bearing on the main story.

Although in saying that, that's all the flashes really seemed to be anyway, just a means for the writers to waste time, but at least the flashbacks/forwards had some relevance to the story.

Read my post further up.

As for Dharma, I think it was two things, helping to explain the Island how people try to exploit it and why it needs protecting. Secondly, I think it was used to add excitement and to bulk up the show. Some of my favourite Lost is from Dharma episodes, I wouldn't go back and take it out if i could.

What a disappointment. Can't believe the big battle between MiB and 'the Hero' came down to a lousy punch up on a cliff. Everything just seemed so weak.

:(

I thought this then realised, what else could they of done. I think the series needed another season or a 24 episode season so they could have taken is a bit deeper and answered more questions.

One question I'd of loved to have been explained was the rules.

Taken from another forum - good little explanation

"Because they all preserved the Light, it was left there for them to go to eventually after they all got around to dying."

I'm an emotional wreck now :'( was a beautiful ending, but lots of unanswered question, which is kind of a good thing I think (true Lost spirit)

While it was overall a beautifully shot ending the only saving grace was Kate in a little black dress!

The whole side timeline reminded me of the Matrix. With all the "You'll know what your purpose is when the time is right" lines.

Not sure if I'm happy or not about it really.

I'm at work still thinking about the finale. Want to go home and start watching it all again from the beginning.

Amazing ending to an amazing show. Sure I've got gripes but I wouldn't have wanted LOST to be perfect, if it was I'd have nothing to talk about and talking about random little moments was why I love the show to begin with.

I think I may have been a little to critical about the finale. On reflection it was very good from a character point of view, I liked how they all came together, etc. However, from a story point of view I'm still disappointed. Far too many questions unanswered, and I don't mean small ones like the numbers, the hatch, darma, etc. I knew we wouldn't get answers for them, but I mean the big ones, why black smoke? why the lighthouse that could see into peoples lifes, why were jacob and MiB even there (it almost seemed like they didn't even know, blind faith?!)

Also, MiB/Locke died way too easy, I was expecting a twist in his story right at the last second... he final breath could have been some massive plot twist... oh well.

I shall probably have to watch it again though to see if I missed anything.

So when did they officially die? I'm still a bit confused about the whole situation, Christian said that they were all dead, so I assume any filming that was done off the island was some sort of Limbo universe?

No they all died as when they died in the series. The only characters' deaths we don't know are Kate, Sawyers and Desmond's (and Frank and Miles) as they escaped the island and presumably lived a long and happy life. Kate kind of explains that to Jack when she said "I've missed you so much" towards the end when she holds his face.

Edit: Mis-read you slightly. Yes the other universe was kind of a limbo place. They were in essence Lost and trying to find each other! No pun intended.
