LOST..... How do you think it will end

Truly rubbish, towards the end of season 5 they clearly knew they had one year left and couldn't explain ANYTHING they did on the Island, so sideflash to what ended up being limbo was created out of thin air for no reason...... so they could explain that rather than anything else.

Ok, what was the island, why could it move, what was the light, would Locke leaving be like the devil getting out of jail and killing everyone everywhere, would the world just end, why was CJ from West wing there, how were they made a bit immortal or whatever, just, what the what.

Ok, they all died at various times and the side flash was some limbo reality, I don't really care about that, it was pointless, did nothing, was a season long waste of time completely, it feels like it was done just so they had a start/middle/end to a story they could actually explain in the final episode and hope no one asks what the entire ridiculousness of the island was.

Then, more strangely, why exactly did Ben, dead, in limbo, decide not to move on? He knows the "world" at that point isn't real, he's dead, they are all dead, he just wants to hang on with his "daughter" for a bit, surely being that its a made up reality the daughter would be in "heaven" anyway after they leave, or was he thinking he'd go to hell or something?

Everything about it, was stupid frankly, and though it doesn't matter, wasn't the plane wired up with multiple sets of explosives wired into the electronics, now did the plane not explode exactly? They grabbed a bit of C4 out of the plane but didn't really search through it so there would have been more.

THe whole things happening in limbo as they happened on the island is ridiculous, as limbo was "out of time", kate and people there clearly died at some other point, it wasn't real time, it was whenever, why does getting a cut on a neck change his neck in limbo, in limbo he's already long since dead.

Finally, some sane people have woken up and watch it, welcome :) I think everyone else is suffering from sleep deprivation, haha ;)

The quick answer to all your questions drunkenmaster is this: no one knows :( it's all going to theories, which is really disappointing.

I'd be surprised if even the creators and writers know the answers to the questions we want answering.

Looking around the internets I am amazed at how many people have misinterpreted the ending! I hope this misunderstanding doesn't cloud how brilliant the show was as a whole and also how great the final twist really was.

I don't know what to think!

I feel the ending was terrible, but only the last 10-15 minutes of it.

However this does not put a cloud over the whole Lost experience.

It was amazing. Will be buying the Blu-Ray box set very soon I feel!

And you don't feel even slightly disappointed that you don't actually know anything about the island? not really anyways?!

I understand the ending, and I think it was good for the characters, but it was a weak ending for the whole thing.

And as for the twist, it wasn't really that good, seriously, they said that once we saw the ending we'd be able to piece everything together.

I don't know about you, but I never really got that 'oh snap, now I understand' feeling?!

Oh yea, and one more thing, can everyone explain why the MiB name is such a massive secret? I was hoping we'd find out in the finale, and he'd end up being someone we heard about / knew. I have no idea who, but there really is no reason to keep his name a secret, surely? It's no big deal, it just annoys me, haha

I liked it, not sure what i was expecting really, just been spending a bit of time seeing peoples reactions and final theories, it seems the show kind of had two endings, the island one and the characters final one, jack saved the island and the characters met up in the afterlife and moved on together, a lot of questions left but a lot answered as well, plenty of emotional scenes, perhaps too many, the one where Vincent comes to Jacks side just as he's dieing probably being the best. :(

I'm so confused by the ending, I was expecting answers but was left just as confused as before.

Was the island real or just some other world they were in after dying in reality? Arghhh, someone explain what happened!

The thing is, do we need to know the answers? Some things yes a lot of things no. I'm not fussed about knowing MIB's name. I know that the island was described as a 'Cork to block evil' - whats wrong with that definition? To explain the detail behind that statement may ruin the intrigue surrounding it. It most likely wouldn't be satisfactory. Don't get me wrong I love when they can explain things, but I think a lot of things don't need to be explained anymore then they already have been.

ok...

THE ISLAND AND EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED ON THE ISLAND WAS REAL.

The only thing that wasn't strictly "real" was the alternate time-line (purgatory) which was created by the Losties.

I was reading through the thread someone here posted from reddit, it contains quite a few good answers but still many theories which might not be right or complete, this one was quite an interesting read.

best ending they could have possibly done

anything else would have been out of character or just a tick list of answers

the show is about the main characters and we got an ending for them, im glad they left the island mysteries

What sort of misinterpretations ? I have to say im not entirely clear myself what we were meant to take out of the ending.

IMO: The island is real, they were really there, everything thing that happened on the island actually happened. The other 'world' was the place they all went to when they died, regardless of when they died. "Some died before you, some died a long time after you."

They were all in that other world to make peace with themselves or something so they could move on with their afterlifes.

The only real survivors were the people that left on the plane, I'm assuming they all died of old ages / other reasons.

That's only a quick summary, however it pretty much covers it though :)

Anyone else what to add anything else?

EDIT: Check out the link in Radiation's post, that's a much better explanation of what I just said, haha

That was pretty much my understanding of it, thought it was a bit of a cop out not having everyone who'd died on the island there at the end though.

Case in point:

This kind of response to the ending is what I am afraid of becoming almost the norm. A ton of people on my facebook just didn't get it at all. People of OCUK posting in this thread though are generally of a higher understanding of Lost so I don't expect many people posting in here to not really understand it. I was just referring to the masses who will probably say:

SEE I TOLD U DEY WAZ DED ALL ALONG INNIT

:p

It's not necessarily about just the people who died on the island, but more about this particular group of people. I think some people are excluded due to there sins (Not being ready as Hurley mentioned) - possibly the reason Michael is not there is because he killed one of his fellow group.

Also its very possible that Ben and Hurley went on to watch over the island for hundreds of years after Jack died, because after all the time-line has revolved around Jacks experiences.
