LOST..... How do you think it will end

i was quite satisfied with the ending. despite watching it from the beginning, i've never been a die-hard lost fan and didn't really care about whether everything was answered. i suppose the ending is as much directed towards fans like me, as well as the addicts.

i must admit a did shed a tear once or twice (i'm blaming the tiredness), and felt suitably confused when it all ended. i thought it was a very wholesome ending to a comlicated and lengthy series.

That doesn't explain the rest of the living world around them though.

Yes it does. They are all dead but don't realise it. the whole point of the AR is to show that the Island helps people to come to terms with their problems. As Jacob stated in What They Died For, 'you needed the island as much as it needed you'. Once they realise they can move out of limbo, represented by the doors opening at the end and the big white light.

If you remember Hurley in What They Died For, he saw Ana Lucia in the AR and someone said 'isn't she coming?' he replies 'no,she's not ready yet.'. this is the reason Ben also stayed behind, he still has to repent his sins until he is allowed to move.

They all died happiliy ever after. :)

I didn't get it until about 10 minutes after and I rememberd the line beween Hurley and Ben making reference to the past and then it all fell into place.

Fantastic ending.

yea same for me when kate says to jake "i missed you so much" great ending to a series

Is it poissible the hatch harnessed the light and prevented it from doing what happpened to the island in te last episode or am I getting mice up here

it was a good ending though

Eliot - More than possible. The quakes could have been the light draining/'hel'l resurfacing the the hatch was a means to keep re-plugging it.

I was very happy with the ending and thinking back over past events it makes a lot of sense from a character point of view.

Ben needs to atone with Alex I guess, him saying "It helps a lot" when forgiven by Locke must have been an indicator that it was a thing on his list of things to deal with before he was ready.

Much like when BSG ended I am sorely sad that it's all over and I will feel a little "empty" inside not being able to watch it for a while :(

You do get rather attached to characters when you watch them for so many years.

so what was charles whitmores role in all of this then ?

also

did they actually leave the island when they got rescued ?

When they got rescued? You mean at the end of season 4? Yes they did leave the island. Everything that happened on that island and off did actually happen. The only thing that's not "Real" in the sense that they're not alive was the Sideways/Purgatory time-line, which doesn't equate to any actual time as its not real, its a world the losties created for themselves to reunite and then move on.

Am not going to read the thread and spoil things...

Well, I have a heart of stone, lol ;) so I saw through the wool to the core of a crap finale, I'm still really annoyed, ha ha, i can't believe so many people thought it was a fitting end?! oh well

I gave up on this show at the beginning of season 2, it felt too much like hard work. What was the big mystery of the island? Has anyone got a link to a really brief synopsis/explanation of the series?

seems to be be a split reaction to people being happy with the ending, i how ever thought it was a great way to finish the show.

don't know what some of you were expecting tbh

No one believes it was a fitting end. People that do think anything like it was an apt ending at the moment, will soon come to their senses.

For a Lost episode it was awesome, it had everything: action, Hurleys one liners, more questions, some answers, Kate in a dress...etc... but for the FINALE of a 84 or so episodes, SIX YEAR saga which has had us all 'eye-crossingly' confused yet unbelievably fulfilled at numerous points, it was quite pathetic.

But hay, at least the 83 episodes that came before were all pretty much fantastic TV, so I cant really complain.
