LOTRO free to play going ahead.

so what happens to the 3 months I paid for? do they still keep taking money? or do i have to pay for more points?

Well if you payed for 3 months and providing that you log in once for each of those 3 months then that should net you 1500 points. At that stage if you wanted to swap to not paying monthly you could just cancel the subscription and get points through the normal ingame methods rather than the 500pt monthly. Obviously if you continue to pay the subscription and logging in after that then you continue to get 500pts each month + whatever points you earn ingame.

Ok so I guess I need to raise a ticket, I thought I would at least have 1000 points, 500 from VIP status and 500 from trial. I did read somewhere that the points might take a little while to update, so will give it a day or two.

I dont mind paying the sub each month.

cheers thanks for that mate.

Could be that yeah, I recall reading that the US one had a similar problem when the f2p went live that some peoples points totals werent updated for a little while.

Points seem to be coming in at a reasonable rate in game, only done about 7 or 8 quests and have made 255 points from them.

Yay eventually got into Laurelin, swear it was the last server to go green for me.

Don't have any turbine points, but I guess I'll they'll appear soon enough.

EDIT: only got 120 points from deeds and quests seems a bit low for a lvl57

yup it is deeds give 5-10 points each, should have at least 10x that, if not more.

Aha, just like everything else, points are delayed.

Hi all!

Points are still being added to accounts. This may take up to a day or two for them all to be added.

Dont forget though that you dont get points from deeds retroactively, so you wont get points for every deed you have already done up to lvl57.

Seriously?

They said existing characters on old subscriptions would be awarded points for already completed deeds/quests.

Oh well guess I will just finish moria and mirkwood and never bother with the old areas.

Yup seriously, they've said it officially several times now that deeds would not be done retroactively, thats why so many people have saved deeds to be done after the f2p launch. Quite a few people in the guild I'm in have taken themselves to within a few kills of completing a deed and are now running about today doing the last few kills to get the points :)

Thats bloody annoying, nice of them to, partly, go back on their words since the F2P announcement.

Oh well I had only done a few of the killing deeds, but not getting anything for the exploration, quest etc deeds is a bit of a kick in the teeth. But I guess I should be getting the old sub bonus (500 per year since it was activated?) & the preview bonus.

Not that with this character I'll have much to spend it on, only thing I would be interested in is unlocking the quests areas but already finished a good majority of the quests in the lvl 40-50 areas aside from the raids and pretty much everything before that so I wont be missing much with Moria and Mirkwood to keep me occupied.

Well they havent really gone back on their words, at least not the words that I've seen. The first I read about it was back in early June when Sapience said in a Q&A session that deeds wouldnt be done retroactively, so thats almost 6 months ago, not sure if it was also said before then but thats when I first heard about it and its been said since several times. Makes sense really I suppose otherwise those people who have been playing for 2 years would suddenly find that they have 50,000 points for all the deeds they've done and god knows how many points it would be if they've done it on 7 characters :D

Yeah I can understand why they've done it, but when I first read about the F2P announcement and they were talking about points and how they are supporting old subscribers, they did say that we would be reimbursed for quest/deeds already completed and 120 points is basically nothing.

I'm not that bothered about it as I don't need the points was looking forward to a little bonus, just a bit miffed that I didnt hear about it till today.
