LOTRO free to play going ahead.

I bought the items outright because not only am I in more control by choosing what I buy, everything I have is now mine (and won't go at the end of a sub) and I bought the TP's when they were on offer (18% off).

Isengard legendary got me about £30 worth of quests as well as the new stuff once it opens!
 
Played this ages ago, couple of questions;

Do I need to buy the game and expansion packs?
Will it run on my MacBook Pro? As in will it run on Lion?

I'm guessing since its gone F2P there are a lot more people in the lower level areas. I have a lifetime sub and I'm looking forward to getting back into the endgame.

I'm on Eldar and am considering moving to a different server as it does seem quiet. Will have to wait for character transfers to start again though.

Anyone have any idea which are the busiest EU servers?
 
This is probably a good time to mention that I've moved my Laurelin toons into another kin. A friend of mine and a load of SWG vets she knows have started playing so I've joined them.
 
Reckon it'd be a good idea for the OcUK guys on Eldar to start a little kin so we have a few people to group with? Just chucking a idea in.
 
Without reading the whole 48 pages,can someone tell me briefly the advantages of paying a sub to play this?

Im currently playing this FTP and i understand there are some restrictions but im not sure what.

I think the LOTR store you can but points when you on FTP,what is this for?

Can i play the whole game for free,or does there come a time when i will have to pay a sub?

Paying a subscription fee makes you a "V.I.P" member.

Its gives you access to all the quest packs & areas except the expansion packs which still have to be purchased.

Mirage, let me know your in game name (Hutchey here), I just started on the Vilya server too, managed level 46 so far, we should do some 3 man instances.

Im having trouble displaying more quickslots? like other MMOs you can select more quickshot bars to be displayed/enabled.

Though when i go into the settings and select more quickslots nothing appears until i press the button i but that brings up the inventory bags all over the screen aswel as the extra quickslots bars?

When i click the button i again the inventory goes and all the extra quickslots,what im i doing wrong?

one of the problems this game has is people transfering onto laurelin and snowbourne making more and more servers suffer, if it was abit more spread out most servers would be buzzing.

There's an option in the quickbar menu to always display each quickbar - this will keep the icons up even when you close the inventory, but nothing will be displayed if you don't have each button assigned. Dragging an item or skill will bring up borders for empty boxes that you can use for reference, but I'm not sure how you'd go about doing this permanently - never looked into it, because it's ugly :p

No it doesn't have a mac client.

Game is free, unlock content either by paying the sub, or you can buy it in increments, there are 2 expansions that are not needed until you reach the level of their content.

Thank you,if i want to sub to this how do i do it? as ive tried to upgrade just to see the price etc?

I cant see any options for a sub fee only a page for a 12 month sub which is £79 on the website,i would have thought there would have been a option to pay the standard MMO sub of £8.99?

I have this screen :

So after i put in my CC card details will i get an option on whether to pay monthly or the VIP 12months sub?
