What's the plan for the Exige when the Emira turns up?

Any concerns they'll feel too similar to drive (despite the obvious interior quality differences) once you've become accustomed to the Exige?

Sits quite high compared to pre production car! Not sure why anyone would get anything other than yellow, red or blue or green on it ;) it pulls those bright colours so we'll. And brg metallic just looks classy.

Keep Exige, sell Exige or trade in against it. Will probably keep them both side by side and then sell one of them. If Emira is fetching solid overs then of course could be tempted to cash in to make some easy tax free money. :)

Hi there

Went to the unveiling, WOW the car looks absolutely sensational in the flesh, quite a bit of metallic in the blue, the green as feared is too dark for my taste. The red however is maybe brighter than expected and could be a lovely colour.

The interior is a big step up even on this pre production model, so will only get better.

The third and final deposit will be £2800 and will be due around December/January, so those who have paid their £5000, expect to be requested another £2800 in a month or two, Lotus still think they are on track for first wave of UK cars to be delivered in May and June. They had planned to build 550 units per year for the UK market, this has now been doubled to 1100 units per year.

The show car DOES NOT have privacy glass, I thankfully did not select privacy glass on my build as I think it would be too dark.

The cars weight is 1458kg DIN, so that is with all fluids, 75% fuel in tank for V6 FE manual.
The i4 DCT is expected to be around 1430kg DIN for FE edition.

This is for FE editions, so heavier seats been powered, 10 speaker KEF etc. Once base configurators open up I guess people can remove KEF and maybe more seat options will come at a later date.

I requested a GT4 road variant and the smiles eluded that this will happen but probably not until around 2023/2024 due to the sheer amount of demand on Emira.

I recorded the entire unveiling where they go into detail about the, more downforce than Evora, something like 31% more, they also confirmed Emira will ride slightly better than Evora, so that means sport chassis with Goodyear tyres will be exceptional.

Videos and pictures to follow tomorrow, its been a very long day for me, Oulton Park and then Lotus event, all done in the Exige on cup 2 tyres with an outside temperature of -1c, good fun those tyres. :D

The car photographs well but it actually looks even better in the flesh.

Interior is a massive step up but the quality is average but Lotus assured me this been a show car is not final production quality which I believe as the interior was clearly made up of many 3D printed items.

A couple more:

As I say its such a great looking car, I would love to see one in the red colour.
I expressed this strongly with Lotus saying they need to have more cars to show people in the actual colours and they did say they are working on that.

TBH the interiors on the old cars aren't terrible, there just isn't much of it and they don't wrap fake leather or soft plastic over everything. Nothing is 3d printed though :D

But you can make them look really nice if you give a place like Allon White some money, they will tailor the inside using real English leather. Then it will smell like a vintage Jag.

I was referring to blue car above, Lotus chap mentioned the interior had a few 3D printed items, hence quality is not final production, its just a mock up car for show purposes.

I have added a POLL to the thread. :)

Usually greys, blacks, and whites on modern cars disappoint me, but that shadow grey is a lovely colour. Distinct bluish hues in the light.
