Absolutely yes. I genuinely hope that the Labs are everything they are promised to be.

But Steve isn't wrong about anything he has said. LTT have been posting factual videos with an unacceptable amount of inaccuracies. The Labs not being ready yet is not an excuse for it either.
 
Well my ignore list just doubled to 2 users…

Nothing to see here until Linus makes his inevitable video. we know he will, these attacks will be destroying him on the inside.
 
Seems pretty petty going after Linus for what essentially was a off the cuff / unscripted comment by a new LTT employee on someone else’s YouTube channel (where they don’t have editorial control) perhaps the goal with labs is to get to GN and above level of data and the employee was being a bit over zealous.

Some people are making it out like Linus personally said GN are **** or something.

Personally I reckon all this could have been avoided / sorted out behind the scenes without all of this ugly drama.

I don’t believe GN are doing this all benevolently for the audience, seems more calculated and cynical. Waited for something juicy and snaked out with months of other research (as they say themselves)

It just reinforces what GN said about quality and rushing content. If they had more time to QA their vids then incendiary comments (as well as shoddy benches) would be caught and edited

It wasn’t their vid, it was someone else’s…

Why is Steve so concerned about another tech channels numbers? He’s a tech review channel, not a reviewer of other tech channels. It’s pure theatre / drama which he said it wasn’t about.

I don't care if the channel is about computers, Cooking, Bodybuilding, Miniatures, Makeup, Fashion etc.... if you are a company that has a reach in the plus 10 million range it is your responsibility to vet each and every video you make before it goes out so it doesn't cause controversy, This entire situation could've been avoided easily and as I said earlier you don't need 20/20 hindsight to see it, Linus is now the creative lead or some such title so he needs to be proactive and watch ALL videos before they are put up and tell the editors "cut that out we don't need the drama".

Shocking how some people here still didn't know this when it was literally mentioned in the first 5 minutes of the original nexus video!

I swear to god people should not be allowed to debate here until they at least watch that video

I think the LTT employee comment was the catalyst for Steve to call out all the sub standard work LTT has being doing recently.

I imagine Steve has been biting his tongue for a while over this, Linus general opinions on quality / approach are already all over his own channel, he seemingly doesn't care, his focus is on pushing out 25 videos a week irrespective of the errors.

No conversation with Linus would change this, Steve shouldn't give Linus preferential treatment, so Steve's called a spade a spade, much like he's done with all his other videos which exposes bad business practices etc and treated them in the same way.

That’s for the audience to decide, I don’t need Steve or any other tech channel reviewing other tech channels, it’s just weird.

If the quality falls consistently below standards, viewers will go somewhere else. and LTT will have to make the decision to either improve standards or continue and risk losing viewers. That’s how it should be.

Still doesn't paint a pretty picture and infact makes them look worse off actually knowing that they **** off others behind the scenes

given this isn't a witch hunt and LTT isn't in competition with GN or vice versa the amount of LTT brown nosing you are doing is just plain embarrassing.

There's no think, it 100% is as Steve said it in the first video. It's been a long time coming, and GN referenced or showed every clip from LTT/WAN show episodes where they goofed up or doubled down on where they went wrong. The calling out GN and HUB was the final straw, and then the sobby response from Linus which was also full of errors ended up being the icing to warrant a follow-up video from GN but they just put that response as a chapter in their scheduled video for the week anyway.

What if the "viewer" just watches LTT and uses the "reviews" to inform them of which products to buy?

Someone needs to hold big review channels to account, someone operating in the same space is perfectly placed to spot the problems and call them out!

Respectfully I don't really care about Steve in this entire thing he just helped to highlight an issue. The professionalism, Or lack there of, From LMG's employees is 1 of the major concerns.

Once you have people saying "Yeah we're better than GN, HUB because reasons" it creates a slightly pathetic atmosphere which isn't conducive to a creative environment and co-operation between like minded enthusiasts.
