Odd they both are tech channels.

And Steve didn't seem very bothered by Linus inaccuracies until Linus started straying into benchmarking.... Then suddenly he had a issue..

Are you sure you are not the one brown nosing Steve and ignoring his disingenuous reasoning?

Linus YouTube channel valued at 100 million. That’s still tickling me.

Really.

Linus has been puting "benchmark" in his videos for years.
But now he's started a lab suddenly there's a issue.

It's all very convenient isn't it?

If that is the case, is that viewer gonna watch GNs video or is he just going to continue to watch LTT and continue the same path.

Perhaps but a competing hardware review channel isn’t it. Especially given the motives of said competing channel makes any findings questionable at best. Perhaps Steve should focus on his own channel and content and put out quality videos and let LTT continue on their path, the audience would decide for themselves.

I think you're losing sight of the issue, and that is this is about accuracy and conduct.


I would say Steve/GN hell the rest of the tech Youtuber community have ignored LTT for fear of stirring up a hornet's nest, right up until Linus decided to make it personal. At that point I imagine GN just rolled out the dossier of items they've been keeping for just such an occasion in order to defend themselves.

If LTT have the means and facts to deliver a worthy riposte then I'm all ears and welcome a healthy defence, but alas I don't think they have a leg to stand on.

So does this approach apply to other things?

What about the phone hacking scandal, which was exposed by an investigator at the Guardian, should they have focused on it's own media outlets and just ignore what was going on at the News of the World?

I don't think Steve has an agenda, he just holds people to higher standards.

Some misinformation and issues with a product Vs hacking celebrities and dead kids voicemails.

They probably won't, as they are literally spreading out from a tech-lite YouTube channel to full tech channel.

I would laugh if Linus says enough is enough, closes the channel. Then we will be stuck with the standard, stand in 1/3 or the screen and talk of a script production values that most people can't be arse to watch and instead will read.

Ltt has lost at least 112k sonfar just from flow plane so I doubt they will continue a move into the benchmark area.

I expect a shrinkage in size and production ideas

Not that convenient then @Abraxaz1 if its taken Steve a year to respond to that.

I've always seen LTT as geared towards mainstream folk, with HU pitched slightly more towards enthusiasts.

Whatever the case, a simple "yeah I'm sorry, my fault and we as a collective will do better" would have ended this ages ago.
