LTT called out

Completely different scale and legal ramifications.
Too say they are equal is beyond ridiculous.

I never said the cases are equal, why do they need to be? It was an example how another business operating in the same sphere does and should call out another.

Hardly rocket science to grasp the concept.

Neither is understanding are differing levels of severity and legal ramifications.
One should be reported and referred to the police etc.
The other is an issue between two private companies and a YouTuber looking to increase their sub count.

Difference being that space both were involved in investigative journalism.

And in this case both are tech review channels.

Personally I think it could have been handled better and all comes across as quite petty from both parties.

Odd they both are tech channels.

And Steve didn't seem very bothered by Linus inaccuracies until Linus started straying into benchmarking.... Then suddenly he had a issue..

Are you sure you are not the one brown nosing Steve and ignoring his disingenuous reasoning?

could care less about GN. Its the fact you can't see through your rose tinted glasses. They both may be tech channels but they are not the same. GB news is not the same as the BBC news

Nope there not ....

But ltt was trying to get into benchmarking... Something Steve's channel is all about....

And yes theres no need to be a arse, just cos I don't share the same view point as you.

I just think it's suspicious that he saved up all that data and waited for a big story which he knew Linus knew nothing about before releasing it.

They did, were told it wasn’t tested on a 4090 but did it anyways because … reasons??

The reason was probably that they "needed" to make that hour's video and had neither the time nor the inclination to do a different video because they hadn't had the time or inclination to get the right equipment for that video. And, of course, the fact that they don't care about accuracy, only publicity and money.

Hate to say it but you're kind of making Steve seem to be some sort of mustache twirling villain that's been planning Linus' downfall for a year...

Edited because @Abraxaz1 used the right description and I didn't (mustache twiddling??? Lol).

Not a moustache twirling villian but a competitor.

Who keeps a year long database of someones mistakes ready??

Just seems weird to me.

If it doesn't to you then fine, must be my nievity

Who keeps a year long database of someone's mistakes ready? I'd say a competitor.

The point most people are making isn't that Steve is infallible, but that what he said was valid. Whatever his intention, Steve pointed out Linus' mistakes and that should be the focus I.e. what was said not who said it.

LMG usually just edit out glaring errors pointed out to them quietly (after millions of people watch it), as stated in the smackdown video. What's unusual is that he hasn't gone after several other channels yet :p
