If you actually engage and listen to the reality of the situation, you will realise its not going to be down to Linus for everything.Looks like they found their scapegoat
I want a job for whoever you've worked with, neither me nor anybody I've ever known, ever, has had an experience like you describe.
If memory serves me right, it was an April fools joke. Orginally they were only going to leave it up for a week I think but at the time there was a lot of issues with celebs joining OF, leaving after a week and then people doing charge backs since it is a monthly subscription platform. This was screwing over people on OF as it caused OF the company to be more strict.I would think that a joke would be some thing brief and not something that you would require an unwilling employee to manage. (Unless that was part of the unappreciated joke on her).
Like i said, scapegoat. Linus was the CEO when all of this was happening. The buck stops with him.If you actually engage and listen to the reality of the situation, you will realise its not going to be down to Linus for everything.
Member of staff for their department, took responsibility, thats what would happen in a real business, why do you think its different?
Looks like they found their scapegoat
You don't happen to be able to check if it's still up with your account. If memory serves me right, it was an April fools joke. So they left it up till the end of the month to avoid screwing over the OF creators even more.
His the owner as well so theres that. Bucket stops with him 100%Like i said, scapegoat. Linus was the CEO when all of this was happening. The buck stops with him.
But but it was Steve's fault
Sort of related I guess. Quite a long read
advertising a screwdriver in an apology vid ffs,
Why are you hoping to sign up for some spicy LTT content? You don't happen to be able to check if it's still up with your account.
Chances of WAN show being canceled this week as a whole?
You lost my motherboard. I DEMAND GIBBO'S HEAD!You can tell which people in this place have never run a company or worked with more than 20 people.
Buck stops with him blah blah blah, but mistakes happen in departments at organisations, department leader will take responsibility and focus on resolving the issue, management get involved for oversight and ensure resolution and effectiveness of the resolution.
If Overclockers had something similar where they had not returned a part to a manufacturer and had negative press for 2 days, would you all be calling for the CEO's head there too? I doubt it.
