Masters of the Air 2023

This series is oh so very forgettable, no stand out moments, characters are bland and uninteresting, the air combat is same old time and time again (to be expected I suppose given its bombers and fighters). This is the type of show you watch once and never feel the need, or want to see again. It's just 50 or so mins of 'meh'.

I think it's telling that I care more about the little boy in BoB who had never tasted chocolate before more than everyone else in MoTA.

I saw a review title on IMDB calling it 'Masters of Hot Air' and I am in agreement. Solid 5/10. Bang average, so far.

Yeah it's so disappointing, it could have been so much more.

Watched up to episode 4 so far, very well made and looks great, but I don't really care what happens to the any of the characters. I'm enjoying it but BoB is light years ahead of this in terms of characters and emotion imo, don't think that will ever be beaten or even equalled.

No point me taking an apple trial and smashing it then, from what I'm reading on here.....shame.

I personally think some people are being pretty harsh to it. I mean burgers are nice and I love eating them but they're always gona look like crap if I keep comparing them to wagu steaks.

Similar things were said about the Pacific and I think that's a brilliant series too.

It stands on it own as pretty crap, even without BOB comparisons.

if you mean

Crosby's lady friend being a spy in France - yeah I think I preferred the reality that he didn't know what she did, and the implied sort of maybe Bletchley or something involvement, rather than what they did - which is they didn't know so made something exciting up

I'm into it, but I'm a sucker for WWII films and series. Funnily enough I didn't really like The Pacific that much the first time I watched it. I watched it again as an appetiser for MotA and thought it was brilliant. So I'm reserving a lot of judgement until I re-watch it.

So not a patch on the Memphis belle film.
I watched this to see if it was better as I'd never heard of it. Maybe you have rose tinted glasses on it but it's awful. The acting is hammy at best and the reality of the situation was comical.. It didn't come close to this series.

It’s just too much of a ‘show’ for me. I really can’t work out how to describe how I feel about it. Rightly or wrongly BoB almost feels like a documentary/educational which the events where as this just feels like it has storylines.

I’d love it if this actually explained a bit about what was happening. You know how at the beginning of BoB the soldiers would explain what they were going through/thinking and then at the end you’d get a few paragraphs about what they achieved? This could do with that.

I just can’t explain what it’s missing
