Do you not believe that human beings have a conscience or a soul?

Clearly we have a conscience.... We are self aware...

But a soul? Pure religious folly. Years of society inventive Gods of the void. ie: We can't explain something (why a volcano erupts, or why the sun and moon exist) so we create a God. Due to our own self importance and ignorance, we place ourselves are the centre of this fantasy, with us the reason why the entire Universe exists, and God clearly only concerned with us.

Cobblers!

To me it is very simple.

There is a God, and a merciful God at that.

Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus preached peace, understanding and mercy.

There is a fallen angel named Satan who seeks evil, pestilience and war through weak willed humans.

Mohammed was a self claimed prophet who forwarded his word through war and conquest.

Do the math.

Big bang.

Creation of planets and everything else such as Earth, and eventually life.

Evolution

Life as it is today.

No wizard man in the sky sitting on a cloud, who just one day decided create everything out of nothing.

We live and we die. We can't explain many things that happen, so you just have to deal with it. However, if you want to carry on in your life believing in some silly fantasy story just to make your own little existence seem better, then go ahead. I'll enjoy my life for what it is, and not for what I believe I'll get once I die.

in islam we dont believe in reincarnation

LOL. :D

Incarnation which literally means embodied in flesh or taking on flesh, refers to the conception and birth of a sentient creature (generally a human) who is the material manifestation of an entity, god or force whose original nature is immaterial.

In its religious context the word is used to mean the descent of a god, or divine being in human form on Earth.

Indeed we dont...we believe in life after death but unlike hindhu's, we dont believe that we come back as an animal or whatever they believe with regards to reincarnation.

Whereas islam says we are born, we live then we die, we get buried then on the day of judgement we are all raised from our graves to take resposibility for our good and bad deeds in our lifetimes. That is the difference between islamic and hindhuism and their take on reincarnation.

isnt this what athiesm is

Comments like this just make you look really stupid. First of all no where does it say that the big bang come from nothing, just that it came from something infinitely small and since E=mc2 it could have come from energy of some kind, the evidence for the big bang is real, background radiation, the expansion of the universe etc. Also the big bang does not disprove the existence of God, indeed a creator could have created the big bang, its a good theory as any.

I have watched a number of Dr Naik's talks, and was unimpressed. He misintepreted a number of Hindu texts in an attempt to prove Mohammed was the 10th incarnation of the Hindu God Vishnu. I can't speak for his knowledge on Semetic scriptures, but with regards to Hindu and Sikh religious scriptures, his only appeal is to those who are utterly clueless on their own faith and are wow-ed by someone who can remember a scriptural quotation off the top of their head.

I have seen him quote verses from hindu scriptures, I actually double checked on the internet via other sources to confirm all the quotes were genuine.

The verses I recall, refer to God being One and having no shape or form, and they were pretty much smashing the hindu practice of making idols and worshipping 'many' gods. Like I said these were taken from hindu scriptures.

I agree though that some if not most people are simply impressed by the verses he pulls from memory.

Not sure what you mean by a conscience but I don't believe that we have a soul, I'm not religious in any way so to me most religious things are fantasy stories, I do believe there were certain people who did exist, such as Jesus.

Fair enough.

By soul I mean something that we as human beings have, but other animals do not have. Very little even in religion is actually known about the soul.

In Islam, the next 'stage' after this life is known as 'barzakh', it is a kind of purgatory which comes before the afterlife. This is something that the soul will go through, when the physical body is dead.

In Islam, the afterlife seems somewhat sexist, with men getting a hurd of virgins? What's all that about? Where do these virgins come from?

No, don't see any difference between us an animals. Just greater brain power, and more self awareness... Religion needs to make us important and the center of the universe, but I don't see any reason to.

It's not a case of misquotation, its a case of misinterpretation. An example: the deliberate misinterpretation with regards to Kalki Avtar - scriptures mention Kalki will come from "Sambhal" which is a village in India. Dr Naik conveniently re-interprets "Sambhal" as meaning "peaceful place" in Arabic, which he believes refers to Mecca, thus making Mohammed Kalki  . That is either base stupidity, or very deliberate intellectual dishonesty exploiting the ignorant.

With regards to God being One in Hinduism, it only takes a rudimentary knowledge of the concept of God in Hinduism to realise Dr Naik doesn't really understand the base philosophy of what he is talking about when he attempts to interpret Hindu texts.

I dont know about hurd;):p...but if we go to heaven then yes we are blessed with virgins....oh and women are also blessed as well as stated below.

Its commonly known as Houri...

The Quran says this about Houri's:

Qur'an
The houri are mentioned in several places in the Qur’an, although in plural no specifics are given as to the number of houries available. Likewise it does not appear from the Qur’an that only girls should be available; both sexes are mentioned. And they are made available to all Muslims, not just martyrs.

"Thus shall it be. And We shall pair(zawajnahoom: pair them, marry them). Note zawj (lit., “a pair” or - according to the context - “one of a pair”) applies to either of the two sexes,a man to a woman and a woman to a man, as does the transitive verb zawaja, “he paired” or “joined”, i.e., one person with another)[28]them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye."[Chapter (Surah) Ad-Dukhan (The Smoke)(44):54]
"In these [gardens] will be mates of modest gaze [qasirat at-tarf: Lit., “such as restrain their gaze”, i.e., are of modest bearing and have eyes only for their mates (Tafsir Razi). This phrase applies to both genders.[3]], whom neither man nor invisible being will have touched ere then." [Chapter (Surah) Ar-Rahman (The Most Beneficent(55):56]
"[There the blest will live with their] companions pure and modest, in pavilions [splendid] [Chapter (Surah) Ar-Rahman (The Most Beneficent)(55):72]
"reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!” And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye [Chapter (Surah) At-Tur (The Mount)(52):20]
Here are verses that refer to one’s spouse recreated in the hereafter:

"And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, having resurrected them as virgins [Chapter (Surah) Al-Waqi'a (The Event)(56):34-36]
And among His wonders is this: He creates for you mates out of your own kind [min anfusikum azwajan, Lit. “from among yourselves mates (spouses, one of the pair)”] so that you might incline towards them, and He engenders love and tenderness between you: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who think! ... And He it is who creates [all life] in the first instance, and then brings it forth anew: and most easy is this for Him, since His is the essence of all that is most sublime in the heavens and on earth, and He alone is almighty, truly wise. [Chapter (Surah) Ar-Rum (The Romans)(30):21...27]
There are also verses regarding both genders explicitly:

God has promised the believers, both men and women (Lit., waalmuminoona (male believers) waalmuminatu (female believers), gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide, and goodly dwellings in gardens of perpetual bliss: but God's goodly acceptance is the greatest [bliss of all] -for this, this is the triumph supreme! [Chapter (Surah) At-Taubah (The Repentance) (9):72]
As for anyone - be it man or woman [Lit., min (from) thakarin (male) aw (or) ontha (female)][16:97] - who does righteous deeds, and is a believer withal - him shall We most certainly cause to live a good life, and most certainly shall We grant unto such as these their reward in accordance with the best that they ever did. [Chapter (Surah) An-Nahl (The Bee) (16):97]
A verse regarding other companionship:

“And, O our Sustainer, bring them into the gardens of perpetual bliss which Thou hast promised them, together with the righteous from among their forebears, and their spouses, and their offspring - for, verily, Thou alone art almighty, truly wise [Chapter (Surah) Ghafir (The Forgiver)(40):8

I dont know about hurd;):p...but if we go to heaven then yes we are blessed with virgins....oh and women are also blessed as well as stated below.

Its commonly known as Houri...

The Quran says this about Houri's:

So basically, you have a bunch of sex slaves (they have to have sex with you - they have no choice)? Sounds like they're in hell in some ways surely?

So, all your life, the deep meaning to the universe and everything, comes down to bonking a bunch of virgins in the afterlife?

LOL well if thats the way you interpret it then fair enough...i mean not many women find sex a hellish experience do they??...theres enough ***** around that shows me that sex for a woman isnt such a hellish experience.

And no its not all about sex in the afterlife...i mean i dont know do i??...i havent quite got there yet;) and neither has anyone else ao im afraid i cant answer that question...you can make up your own mind about that:).

But how you came to the conclusion from what i posted that these 'hurd of virgins' are forced to have sex or are sex slaves is truly beyond me....but i guess you only see what you want to see:).
