You die... You're given X virgins who seemingly have no choice in the matter... Seems pretty cut and dry to me.


Also all seems a bit antiquated - I'm sure X hundred years ago it all sounded rather plausible and appealing. But these days does it still sound so likely? Why is a God so interested in appealing to humanities sexual response/desires? Is he really so shallow?


All sounds as fanciful, self important, self indulgent and daft as most other religions to me... Can't get my head around how anyone can believe in such hokum?!

Although it is rather conflicting with "Islam respects women", when it then degrades them down to mere sex objects for a reward for men.
 
This thread is amazing. Never seen Muslims post before about their faith. The believe system is fascinating. Totally insane, but fascinating nonetheless :P

So with that in mind....any virgin i meet i can automatically tag them as a sexual conquest right??. Damn i missed out on quite a few back when i was a lot younger:p

Look the fact is that we dont know, actually no one knows what the deal is in the afterlife...i mean i havent seen or heard anyone whos been there and back to confirm whether muslims who go to paradise/heaven get a 100 virgins or whatever the number is. We can only interpret what we have in front of us, some will interpret it the way Neil has and some will interpret it differently to say thats not the case.

As for what women will get in the afterlife...i dont know as there isnt really any clear cut answers to that question.

So wait now you're saying the Quran isn't trustworthy once it says something distasteful?


Ether it's the true word of god or it's all made up, you can;t just pick and choose which parts to make it more appealing.

No i didnt say that...what i said and if you cared to read was that different people will interpret different things in the Quran in their own way whereas others will interpret it in another way. Thats what i said;).

And for me its the true word of God...i dont believe anything else but your asking a question that quite a few people will find hard to answer...maybe when im down the mosque later on tonight ill ask my Imam and see what he says but personally i dont know as ive never really felt the need to ask what a woman gets in the afterlife. Maybe she is seen as a sexual object, maybe she isnt...i dont really know.

And yet this person somehow does know all about this, can will give you accurate/correct answers? And how does he know then? Does he actually know anything, or is he just spouting stuff he's been told parrot fashion... All of it without the slightest shred of proof, and most of it clearly in the realms of fantasy at best?

I dont know do i??...all i can do is ask him and see what he says...simple as that...maybe he doesnt know maybe he does...he can only tell me what he knows himself.

I'm not 100% sure on the afterlife, but from what I've heard and read in some cases. Everyone will be of a young age mid 20's, there will be 7 heavens/7 hells. People will be judged on the day of reckoning, mountains of good deeds will be demolished by bigger mountains of bad deeds. However 1 good deed will be able to save you.

Imaam's/Holy people will be allowed to bring people into heaven, the Qur'an will speak on behalf of people, people's feet/eyes/hands will all speak.

Once in heaven I don't know. Not sure about the virgin thing, but the women up there are meant to be very very beautiful. Meant to have really big and nice eyes.

The "hole stupid virgin thing?" The reason I've highlighted it is it's an example of how daft religion can get... The moment you start looking at most religions they're like a bad wooly jumper where you pull at a thread and the whole thing falls apart.

If someone doesn't believe in Islam, according to your faith what happens to them? For example, in my case, what happens to me? I believe I'm destined to hell?

Consider then for a moment, two individuals, one born in Italy, and another in Iran. Which is more likely to believe in Islam? I think we can agree being born in Iran gives you a greater chance of going to heaven therefore? How is that fair?

Let's pull some more threads to this jumper... Consider a young child. If a 2 month old (male) child dies, what does Islam says happens to him? Does he get X virgins in heaven? Or does he go to hell? Does it matter if he's not believed - he's too young? I suspect he gets to go to heaven? Again, why the golden ticket? Had they grown older they may have sinned or become non-believers..

How can it be religion, a system supposedly based around an ultimate/master being, is seemingly just so unfair and at time plain daft?


I don't believe in Gods and religions, so by most religions I'm destined to hell? Yet my makeup, upbringing and the events in my life have brought me to this state of mind... All of which are ultimately controlled by "God"... So he's destined me to hell... Charming! Why didn't he give some of the same events etc that made someone else a believer? Why did he pick on me?
