At the same time, you are insulting Islam for the peaceful believers. ANY depictions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are forbidden in Islam and we as muslims cannot accept this.

Fair enough, but don't accept non-believers to abide by your wishes. It ***** me off when some religious people (of all religions, that is) expect us to change everything and stop doing things just because it offends them.

Its quite sad how things have turned in this thread.

When free speech takes a back seat to upsetting/offending others there is something seriously wrong.

If drawings pictures is wrong, then i agree drawing Muhammed is wrong. But in the UK/US drawing is fine, even if it is disrespectful. You unfortunately have to like it or lump it. You cant stop someone from doing that, by doing so you are showing that you are not tolerant of other peoples views and IMO that is unacceptable. By sending death threats and other things just makes everything more laughable... it actually encourages people to draw the picture of Muhammed.

At the end of the day who has any right to tell me what i cannot draw?

Interesting.

I would tend to echo what a number of others have said. Just because a religion states that something is right that it's followers believe they have the right to enforce these rules on others above all other beliefs and laws.

G-Force, I am surprised that from the replies you have made that Islam does not teach tolerance of others views and beliefs.

The pedo angle, from my point of view, is why are people using what may have been considered normal in the past as an excuse to continue acting this way with child brides and pedophilia in the name of their religion today when the majority of the human race including people of the same religion believe it is unacceptible. Most religions are a guide and method used to teach morals and to give advice on how to lead a 'good' life. Whilst a number of people have argued that religion is no more than a 'do as you are told or suffer' they tend to forget or have purposly failed to mention the 'lead a good life and here is your reward' aspect. The simple fact is some people gain comfort in belief that they are not all alone and there is a greater purpose.

For those that say / believe or insinuate religion is the root of all evil / all the worlds problems are just plain wrong. Religion has been used as an excuse by people to exert power over the masses. The death of Joan of Arc was politically motivated using religion as an excuse as was the persecution of the Knights Templar. Religion was not the reason these examples happened but religion was the control method used to justify what was done and swing popular approval. The King James bible was translated to match the beliefs of the Church of England. Surely it should have been the other way round......

If these people still believe that religion is still the cause of all evil and removing it from society will create a wonderful and harmonious world then I would ask them to tell the young lady who has just had her unborn infants body injected with poison and after feeling the dying fetuses death throws from within is being forced to give birth to the now dead child in China where religion is suppressed with bullets, that this is all because of religion. Some would argue that the lack of the religious belief that all life is sacred is one of the reasons this continues to happen today. Other may argue a lack of education is a major factor. There are lots of ways to slice it but religion being to blame is not one of them.

My personal view is that religion is a persons choice but should never supersede common law. Any popular religion that requires 'blind faith' is one of the most powerful and dangerous organizations in the world. I am not religious but was educated in a CoE school. One persons beliefs should never be an excuse to surpress anothers.

I Think this is a fundamental point that people don't seem to understand.

You'd get a load of people raging about it and shouting all sorts of nonsense about it.

I'd expect "kill 'em, go to war with them" would be the "opinion" of some nutty, overly patriotic British people, however I suspect people would pass them off as "A crazy minority that doesn't represent the whole of Britain".

Depends what country you were in. I believe this could well be common practice in the Middle East .

You would have to check the law in the UK as to whether defacement of the Union Jack in flag form or drawn is an offence. I would expect that it is not in drawn form. I would also expect it would not win you many friends though.

yes.

Hell i think iam one of the last few patriotic people in the country as most seem to want to see the UK fail and constantly go on about how everything is better abroad and i wouldnt be fussed by what you drew.

So I saw the muhammad south park episode and I was WTF censored this and that and I got confused as if this was done on purpose or not as it was funny at first but then it wasn't anymore. At the same time they made fun from almost any other god/saint that is left.
