Its not meant to be an 'atheists only arbitrators', its meant to be 'one same arbitration service for everyone'.
We went for a very long time without Sharia courts in the UK, what exactly did they use before?

Do you understand what 'One Law For All' means? It doesnt mean a law just for atheists, it means one same law that deals with every faith as well. This is a constitutional right in the USA, so are they discriminatory and right winged?
There is one single law service that every person has access to regardless of religion. No seperate jewish, islamic, christian, or atheist ones ones in the USA. To do otherwise is unconstitutional over there.

Nothing to be ashamed of. Most religions, being creations of the cultures that grow them, are a reflection of that culture at the time of inception. And as such most religions - like cultures of old - tend to be very sexist. Could you imagine a female pope 500yrs ago? No, the culture would not allow it. But now the culture has become more equal towards men and women, the religion within that culture will slowly be forced to catch up.
Likewise, I suspect Islamic women generally have more freedom within those cultures/countries where men and women are treated more equally. And Islamic women have a 'harder' time in those cultures/countries which are more backward in this area.

I am however, not bothered about the past, only the present, and as I said, the problem with extremism right now is with Islam. You may as well go ahead and use Hitler as a comparison, it makes just as much sense, it is childish, and that doesnt mean that people are going to close their eyes to the attrocities that currently happen in the world and in the name of any religion.

Indeed! And our culture moved forwards to understand such actions (beliefs) were ridiculous, and so the associated religions (within said culture) also moved forwards.
You may notice that in some Islamic countries some people are still persecuted as witches, still no doubt supported by religion... But as the culture 'grows up', the religion will too...

I'll admit that I'm a white guy, and know little of Islam, but I will say my boss is Muslim, and know his marridge was "sort" of arranged. He and his wife both had a choice, and they're both very happily married and she's very happy.
Just saying that it's not always a bad thing is all, but, like a lot of things with humans, it can be abused.

LOL well it looks like we both have different interpretations of what that particular quote means or signifies...now you can hopefully see the point im making that its very easy for someone to take a verse or passage from the Quran and twist it so it sounds like its the accepted thing...whereas most people who are educated, not just highly but also with common sense would interpret it a different way

And yes of course muslim are treated differently in each country ie in a backwards islamic country such as Saudi Arabia...they are seen as second class citizens which ill add i dont agree with but whereas the UK a lot of muslim women are much more empowered and have more rights/say in what happens to them...although thats not always the case though even in a more civilised western world ie its just not muslim men who treat their women bad...i hear a lot of non muslim men have a penchant for beating/mistreating their wives or partners. But obviously they wont use the religious excuse whereas some muslim men will use it to justify their actions...again totally abhorrent imho.
Dont get me wrong im not ashamed of my religion or some of the stuff it says in the Quran...sure theres scope to look at it and think hmmmm that verse/passage is telling me to go out and kill non muslims and such like. But then on the other hand i look at it at another perspective and think hold on if i do that then i get arrested etc...maybe not im making much sense but it makes sense to me.
Khaaan and the way he sees things is pretty similar to my outlook...yes i place a lot of emphasis on my faith ie religion and there are things that i wouldnt do purely for religious reasons but as i said awhile back that i tend to use my common sense and make decisions based on that...and in no way am i saying im a perfect muslim...far from it....i dont think you can say any muslim is perfect...its a nonsensical statement and anyone who says they are isnt in reality....we muslims do strive to be better as days go by...i do try my very best...ive made tons of mistakes in the past ie religious ones but im trying to correct them as i get older. The Quran and islam in general does teach us that God is all merciful and forgiving etc.

Funnily enough a lot of arranged marriages do work...but these days an arranged marriage isnt 2 strangers getting married but rather 2 people meeting up and getting to know each other....sure there are very backward muslims but there are a lot of forward thinking muslims.
I have a lot of cousins both male and female who have had arranged marriages and other than a few ie 2-3 most of them are working perfectly fine.
Long gone are those days when parents said you marry this person no ifs ands or buts about it but i think with my generation we are much much more relaxed compared to our parents....for the record i had an arranged marriage 8 yrs ago...long story but it didnt work out...but my mum never EVER forced me to marry her...she introduced us and it was left to me to decide. I accept that there are some muslim fathers/mothers who decide ultimately what is best for their children...again i dont condone nore agree with such stances and i find them out dated in all honesty.

True but you have to remember especially in asian families whether they be muslim or not...they are a bit traditional ie parents know whats best for their kids when in reality they dont, well not all of the time
...so arranged marriages are seen as a good thing as theres the family element should the couple have problems or issues ie they pull together....doesnt always happen though.I think we realise that the front is interpreted as better with just a pinch of common sense can't we?
