Had a local place (not McD) that made their burgers on the premises that were thick minced and were really good.

Hadn't visited for a while and popped in for their burger, which was now a bland catering one. When I asked where their decent homemade was, the owner explained that people didn't like it and preferred the type McDonalds were selling :(

That Signature burger punched well above its price, but I guess you bring people up on bland and bland is all they want /
 
Chocolate orange pie for the win!

Better than that apple nonsense!

Seems strange to be excited for mcdonalds, I have actively avoided them since I stopped working there (I left in 2011).

Big tasty is great but I’ve always found it gets cold really quickly. I suppose when you’re putting half a dozen refrigerated items on top of the burger then it’s no wonder. Needs to be fresh.
 
Mcdonalds drive through is basically now Mcdonalds park up wherever there is a space and wait 15 minutes for someone to bring you your food. The way they now prioritise deliveries is bloody annoying.

The trick is to go onto google maps and check how busy you local one is, lunch time and early evening are predictably busy....go after 7pm and you'll be straight through.

Oh no I go straight through. I just get asked to go sit in car park and wait. Even though I'm only car in the queue.

I've not been served food through the window at my local one in years.

Park up and order on the app for delivery to your car parking space number. Super quick and you get to collect points. I don't think I've ever waited more than a couple of minutes for them to bring it out.

I order on the app. Go to the drive through. Say my number and head to the collection bit to get told to go park up in a busy car park.

Waiting time can vary but overall I find the experience utterly turd.

Not sure if it was faster or slower but I preferred it when I could just wait in the drive through and get served at the window. At least then you had a sense that you were somewhere in a queue / priority.

Now I just seem to be surrounded by deliveroo drivers loading up their cars while I wait.

That's one thing I've never understood..McDonalds food is utterly rubbish if it's not fresh and hot, and it gets cold fast... why would anyone buy a McD's via deliveroo/just eat etc?

The fries in particular just need to go straight in the compost bin if they are not hot and fresh...
 
I’ve seen the delivery drivers take the click and serve spaces as well, very annoying. I wish they would open more first kitchens to remove the conflict with delivery drivers completely.

Anyway, the Philly cheese stack is back soon, that burger was great!

Yes my local one has been like this for a while.

What’s worse though is when some random just parks up in the specific waiting bay and starts eating their food. Is there a more heinous crime!
 
Would you rather get a hot, fresh, cooked to order meal, or something that was cooked 30 minutes ago and has been in the chute waiting for at least that long?

Those aren’t the only options. McDonald’s is supposed fast food so one should receive their order very quickly and it’s quite possible to get hot fresh food very quickly when they are operating correctly.

Whilst foods are kept in the chutes each individual product has their own timer on ranging from a few mins up to I think 22 minutes so they aren’t kept long in the hot holds.
