Middle Earth: Shadow of War

Oh for god sake this stupid game. Nothing has changed with the mechanics. Chasing an orc captain in Cirith Ungol and cannot climb a thin ladder. Ranger simply wont grab it. You want him to grab on a certain area and he wont but grabs other areas you don’t want.

It's just more of the same for me . Even the annoying parts of the first one remain.

First few hours I went around killing some higher ups before I even started the story and now Im level 18 and Ive just started act 2. Slightly OP at the moment and it may just be the way I have gone about playing it, but Ive become bored with it already.

Just had to fight a legendary tracker orc, who was impenetrable to arrows, had vault breaker, and had a pack of the spear throwing orcs with them. And he kept putting little traps on the floor. Man that was frustrating.

Sometimes the game can be a bit too easy, sometimes it throws the most over powered captains in there to really test you. Didn't help that i hadn't killed his bodyguard so had to deal with a poisoning berserker guy at the same time though. Ended up winning through a combination of climbing buildings and beating the crap out of them bit by bit over a very drawn out battle. Even managed to steal his bodyguard as a captain for my army :D

I found the first game to be the same in parts and had to cheese a few bosses. Its even worse when one of those bloody dragons joins in!

I've found using a Hammer instead of a bow, for me, is better. The one I have now does AoE fire damage if charged to max which is really handy in massive fights plus I have a set skill that makes the enemy explode doing further AoE dmg. The only problem is it can set off a chain explosion which you can get caught up in, quite nasty sometimes.

I think I spent too long in the first area, I'm a little OP for the next area too.

Heard the singing orcs in Cirith Ungol? :D

Same for me but once I got to level 4 I just went after them. 11-13 were very beatable even at a low level.

Playing on the Nemesis setting? A lot were escaping death for me once I got them on their knees let alone quickly adapting to every fighting move. Or facing 2 - 3 captains in one go.

Once those captains die the new ones tend to be higher level spawns. Just had a level 29 legendary ambush...poison berserker, gets enraged easily so took me an age to take him out luckily had my Tank bodyguard who has the epic trait to fully heal mid combat, kept his attention long enough for me to break and recruit him :D

Anyone know the best way of dealing with the captain's that have a shield (you have to attack them from behind) but they also adapt to your jump over move to get behind them. I find them the most difficult.

Level 15 and just started act 2 by the way.

Oh and are the shelob memories meant to be literally 1 second long? Seems a bit weird.

The Shelob memories is a bug, widely reported elsewhere. It appears to be related to the 4K texture pack.

You can wait for them to try and attack and roll out of the way then try and stun them. Or use fire barrels.

From what I've read the memories are meant to be that short. The audio pop is a bug though. However what I cannot work out is how to rewatch them!

Normal difficulty. Time is limited for me these days with a small child and its already a huge game so I just dont have the time to play harder difficulties.
