I literally just read that bit and adjusted my previous post. No point hanging around now then, will just switch away !
Used Revolut in Italy last week, flawless and easy.
I really want to move to Starling though, for the direct debits, but I am finding having 2 cards with Revolut so useful for the joint house account with the missus. If only they did that.
If only they did that.
Why not get the starling joint account?
Winner. Thank you!
But then select the joint account in the app and it will default to it from then on out. Stick personal account card in a drawer and forget about it or alternatively, don't even order one. You will soon forget that the account even exists. The only caveat is that both you and your missus need to have a Starling personal account to get a joint account.
Any reason you use it for your salary? The interest rate is quite poor I think.I've been using my Starling account as my main account for nearly a year now with salary paid in. Never found the need to go back to a dinosaur bank.

Also, any reason for Starling over Monzo or just a personal choice.
Having looked at them on the websites, starling does look awesome.
I had the same thing in the US with petrol stations and also with meals where i added a tip to receipt after paying by card, they take two payments and one is refundedAnyone had issues with Monzo misreporting the total amount spent in a different country? I've got a "your trip to France" item on my home page which says we spent £1870.15 but we didn't spend that much. The Monzo app even says in the summary tab that we spent a lower amount during that period - £1571. Last payment in France was made on Saturday 1st so all the transactions have now had a chance to finalise. I have checked multiple times now and I am sure it's incorrect.
The starting balance was only £6 and during the holiday I periodically put lump sums into the Monzo account from my Halifax account amounting to £1575. So the very most we could have spent was £1581 which again the Monzo app agrees with on the summary tab - under "Income" it says £1581. I suppose I should give feedback to Monzo that something has gone wrong with the app here unless I am being particularly thick.
Edit: One possible explanation are the pay at pump fuel pumps in France that pre-authorise 120 euros onto the card before you fill the car, and then the actual amount is taken from the card after. I remember I got a Monzo notification that I'd spent 120 euros each time I used one of these. I think this is what has happened. It has counted these pre-authorised transactions, and I visited the pumps a few times during the 1800 miles!
Starling have started to introduce Wonga type loans, which has put me off them a little bit. There's also been as few issues with duplicate payments for some people and I have personally seen payments show on the wrong day (I thought I'd been double charged at one point).
I've scaled back my use of the card until I'm a bit more confident in it's suitability for everyday use.

I would hardly call a loan with an APR of 11% a wonga type loan
The going rate is 3.5%
