Hey I'm only stating the fact that the PS3 is outselling the XBOX360 and its userbase in Europe is now larger than that of the 360... Plus in Japan the 360 is an utter failure..
So ask yourselves.. Can it survive being a success in only 1 out of the 3 major territorries?
With the reputation of not only being unreliable but probably the most unreliable piece of electronic entertainment ever released.
These are simple facts gentlemen. Common sense will tell you where it will all end..
Ask anyone who doesn't give a hoot about about either console, present them the facts and they will all come to the conclusion that Microsoft already know..
If the xbox brand wasn't owned by Microsoft it would already be bankrupt.. I'm not dissing the 360 in anyway, its a great console, well sort of, except for its reliablity and noise issues, had these things been taken care of right from the word go, then it may have stood a good chance to better the PS brand.. That is what Microsoft was hoping for, much in the same way that Sony did over Nintendo and Sega, but suceeded.. Microsoft unfortunately have not...
It's not going their way, so Microsoft have really now got their work cut out for them... And the worst part is it's all their fault, they have no-one else to blame other than themselves.
Sad but true.
Can they fix it? ? ? I would hazard a guess as no, because the RROD has hurt its reputation and by far is the most serious problem facing the 360 and all future Microsoft consoles..
wow, that's a pretty bold statement, you honestly think the PS3 has hit it's peak already in gaming ?, we've barely scratched the surface yet, so far we've only had one really big exclusive released and that was GT5P, we've got 6 more coming out within the next 12 months, not only that if the PS2 is anything to go by we've got a lot to look forward to, not only in terms of better games, but actual better development of the games.
I think that's what he said though.. the ports are roughly identical at best, a bit ropey at worst? sounds like a fair appraisal.. It's no secret that Sony lofted the PS3 as much higher performing then the 360, which given the years delay may have been worth the wait, however, despite an extra year, the technology yields no extra practical performance..
if only MS didn't use a lead free motherboard, not their fault as the xbox360 was classified as a "toy"
yep, theres another thread about it slightly further down the page.
ill say hand on heart, gaming on the ps3 is probably as good as its likely to be and i dont think it'll match the 360 for the quality of titles..
its no shock really, the 360 has had a lot longer to sell, and the majority of people that want a 360 probably have one now, whereas the PS3 is just starting to get off its feet, so its more likely to sell in higher numbers.
No chance the PS3 is just getting warmed up for sure.
we'll see
Well Sony seem to think the PS3 will last 10 years. I'd like to think they have a better understanding of the market than any of us!
snip
Sorry James I think you are dead wrong
Yes the starting point of the PS3 wasnt as good as we hoped/expected and it really hasnt moved on that much since release
However history tells us that the PS and PS2 both behaved like different beasts once updated SDK's became available after several years of public release - it seems to take Sony longer (maybe even longer each generation) than MS to get the most out of their machines but once they do, they are a lot more impressive than initial release (and this is nothing to do with the differing models of PS1, PSOne, PS2, Slimline etc)
The cell is completely different to any other kind of CPU used in a console before, so its likely to take more time to get the best from it (Sony/Dev's may never do it of course, but I just think this is unlikely)
I may be completely wrong and if so.....shoot me I would just be very surprised if we have already seen the best of the PS3
