ive got the 2x512mb set of this, but what +v have i gotta add on to get it to the PC2-6400 as mine come up as 5300.
I know you have to up it, but to what.
Its currently on +0.3v on a DS4, but still showing 5300.

Show as 5300 where ? They will always report themselves as 5300 / ddr2 667as thats what the SPD timings are pre programmed at (thats the stuff the little card notice in the box is talking about for compatability). You need to manually set them to run at 800 to make them run at 800.

They are rated for 2.1v which is +0.3v on a gigabyte as DDR2 default voltage is 1.8v

Well i can only say good things about mine...they will do 1000Mhz 5,5,5,15 @ 2.1v and 1000Mhz 4,4,4,12 @ 2.3v and got 8,245mb/s in sandra.....on my DS4 + E6600. :D

You must have got the good set Gibbo put back into stock, I was wondering which lucky person got them :D

Seriously though It's nice to hear someone who has a set like we all hoped for.

Mine do 900Mhz @4-4-4-12 @2.1v no problem. I'm pretty certain they'll do 1000Mhz with only a little loosening of the timings and/or a vdimm bump. They're one of the best bargains I've ever bought at £130 :D

only bad thing about having an 805D chip, locked multiplier of x20, cant get the RAM right up :*(
maxxed out around 720mhz.
But then again, dual core £60 chip running at 3.7ghz stable not too shabby!

What timings would be best suited if the FSB : DRAM is 1:2 and theyre running at 720? Bus speed is 180mhz btw :(

dont be silly, they bought em all for under £130 and have so many of them theyll be on TWO for the next year, theres only been 1 week they werent lol

;)

By the time they've finished with the RMA's there ain't going to be that many left, just between 4 people I know we've had 13 kits of which 5 were working examples 8 were replaced, I don't care if they are £50 I won't buy any more took me 5 weeks and 3 dead sets before I got one that worked, and I know some might say oh yer, but every set were tested either by OcUK or Geil and were found to be faulty, I honestly thought in the end I was doing something wrong it was that bad.

The 1.8-2.3v is not their rated 'should work' voltage, thats the allowable voltages...as stated on the dimms themselves its 2.1v for 800 4-4-4 :)

That they dont boot at 1.8v is annoying when the rest did, but unfortunately thats not restricted to geil, plenty of others have that problem too, particularly with gigabytes and gskill in the earlier days...the price we pay for having stuff that needs more than ddr2 spec voltage to work, or in my case not work, but then you know that ;)

EDIT: 1.8v not 800 ;p

The working set which I got direct from Geil is pretty good on voltages, will do 840ish @ 2.1v.
And boots fine @ 1.8v in my Gigabyte DS4 but even the duff sets did, maybe I have a non picky motherboard I can run then in either slots with no problem as well, I have some Corsair which has been superb from day 1.
Hope this helps a little.
