Netflix: Drive to Survive

Apparently the release has been dubbed over all the native language sections rather than having subtitles as in the preview copies sent to journalists. And is mush worse for it as it's the same guy doing all the dubs and it's awful apparently. Amazon have blamed a technical fault which I doubt but have said they'll fix it back to subtitles.

Yes, the dubbing was terrible. Interesting to hear they're going to change it to subtitles...

Sorry, I rather derailed things with MotoGP talk :P

Loved it - Gunther Steiner was excellent as usual.

A few observations

"Mikey NO NO my Pumpernickel was so toasted wrong ".

Hamilton - “ I’m not the kind of driver that crashes into others " ? Ok I sure Felipe would have something to say about this .

I made it to episode 8 without posting anything. WTF is George Russell doing eating sushi with a knife and fork??

If that's sushi, it's not a kind of sushi that I know of.

Looks more like some kind of fried dumpling? What makes it most weird though is that he has a set of chopsticks lying across the plate like he tried but gave up half way through.

If they're doing Season 5, and I believe they are, they need to cut back on the Horner love party and do more with other teams and Team Principals.

I think their problem was that Max refused to take part and then went and won the bloody thing, so they had to put more Red Bull in, and Horner is always willing to dance for the cameras.

Aye, it was dim sum, my bad :p

To be fair, my wife exclaimed the same thing at the screen :D

Also, and again to be fair, I'm not sure there's that many Westerners who can use chopsticks well enough to be happy to eat with them on camera. I can handle a pair pretty well, and it's more the being on camera thing I'd object to rather than the chopsticks.

What does that even mean?
Either you can use chopsticks or you can't. What has the camera got to do with anything!?

Nah, a lot of people can sort of use chopsticks a bit but not elegantly. They drop stuff, struggle to pick stuff up, etc. It takes practice to learn. People, in general, are less happy to do stuff they're bad at on camera than just in front of friends.

Remembering why I've only watched the one season of this.

Lots of contrived drama.

Think I'll just skip to the end, where I presume there's actual drama. :D

Honestly, I don't think it was that bad. There were so many incidents I had totally forgotten about between Max & Lewis!

Anyway, all in all I think it was a decent enough season. Obviously those who know, know, but otherwise it's solid entertainment and an interesting look into what you don't see when watching the races.

Well this series certainly brought my intrigue back for F1. love all the drama, it's good to have villains (Horner).:D Was going to get back into F1 once Porsche finally decides to re-enter (2026?), hopefully not with Red Bull as i'm no fan of Max.
Bring on Sunday!

I used to like Christian, thought he was a bit of a character. But him defending EVERY wrong thing RB or Max did was getting really tiring.

Toto came off really well I thought.

As a neutral it is really sad to see how delusional he is. As a brit it is embarrassing to see how well a German conducts himself under pressure in comparison. Horner absolutely has short man mentality.
