Netflix here we go again.

Then you shouldn't look down on those that are not as well off as you and take measures to cut back on costs. I'm saying it all adds up. You wouldn't laugh at people going to food banks, but people cutting back on monthly streaming subs is fair game?

Different. One is a paid for non necessary service.
The other is a requirement for food
But I am not laughing at either.

I am just laughing at the mental gymnastics.

I Still think netflix at the (rofl "Butt hurt are the ones bending over paying UK prices like mugs") price is great value for money.
I am not sure how old you are but it was easy to spend £10 renting a couple of DVDs from blockbuster which also meant you had to go and collect them and then take them back.
Netflix by all accounts is still bargain value for anyone who was around in those times.
I guess some people just have massive entitlement and will say and do anything to try to justify that position.

It's not really about whether I think it's value for money. It's about the rat race of UK life and trying to live the best life you can. Everything is going up. Literally everything. Where possible, I'll pay less for things I both need, and, want. If that means shopping around, waiting for sales, using vpn signups... whatever.... I'll assess each situation and decide whether it's worth my time. I agree that there are many things in life where time is more important to me than money. These sign ups take minutes and save me a lot each year. This is also the simplicity of the why from my side.

Old enough to know it too well! It was a treat for us, perhaps once a month. I get where you are coming from yeah. We now have seemingly infinite content we can consume for X a month.

Pretty weird thread tbh, people almost being bullied for trying to save a few quid, but still paying, they could instead just pirate it all for almost zero cost and have all the content from every platform, at least then the arguments against doing it would be somewhat worth bothering with. *shrug*

"I suffered so why shouldn't they"

Poor comparison, different type of service which required physical media and staff in stores. These days distribution costs pennies per month. A better comparison would be Netflix 10 years ago when it was much cheaper and most content on one single streaming platform.

lol this thread like the Youtube premium one so many skinflints on the forums, that guy on here who won 10k a month for 30 years trying to cut costs to save a couple of quid a month pure cringe worthy.

Scumbags, why should everyone else foot the bill so you can have get it cheap

£975.39 - £269.09 = £706.30

If a person lied about their country of residence by saying they were in the UK and then went on to defraud the NHS for just over £700, I'm pretty sure most people in this thread defending the use of VPN's would be screaming at the clouds in multiple threads about "the state of it".

Youve completely lost me here with this example and Im now going to invoice you for cleaning the carpet as Ive just spat me drink all over it

As a newbuild inspector once said ridicilass!

Ah standard is staying where it is.
Interesting.

Problem for me. Is I do. T have anywhere else to go. I only watch Netflix and there isn't really any other streamer I'd subscribe/switch to.

Sure I may end up doing 10 months of Netflix, a month of D+ and a month of amazon going forward. But Netflix is my bulk

Paramount has some decent too and often has a free month.

Prime is hitty missy and there's a ****load of content that now has ads
There is sometimes offers on the addon streamers within prime as well that might be wroth a look.

Some wont expect this from me... Apple TV+ has had some very good shows and movies too.
If you've not had apple before...

https://redeem.apple.com/barclaystv5m?&app2

Should still give 5 month free Apple TV+

Is this actually a thing? I searched online and seems it's just VPN advertising to get people to sign up, and you can't actually get cheaper flights just by using a VPN.
Yes, though they might have cottoned on to it by now. Here's Linus Tech Tips casually showing people how to commit fraud with a VPN, at least according to some of the muppets in this thread.

A couple of points.

1. Hard to take a video, that you tout as defending your position as "ok", when it encourages the Pirate Bay within its opening segment.

2. I just tried his trick and it didn't work. I do note that his video is from 5 years ago.

I went to Expedia UK and searched for a flight from UK to New York which came in at £511.

I then cleared everything and connected to a New York server and went to Expedia.com and did the same flight which came in at $621... Converting that to GBP using the Forex Exchange rate (actual retail rate will be worse).is £525

So it's £15 more doing his "trick"

Might have been better to test something that's over 5 years old before using it to call everyone that doesn't agree with you "muppets"

Lol

Suffered.

ENTITLED!

Cancelled mine. It’s getting ridiculous, flix with Disney and Spotify is just a dumb amount of money for something we can not use. We left Spotify as we both constantly use it and we left Disney as my gf wants it. Netflix is gone in the bin.

This clearly acknowledges that it may no longer work as the video is old, might have been better to read more carefully before posting. The point was that it did work when he made the video 5 years ago and apparently YouTube were fine with people promoting fraud. It's completely irrelevant whether flight companies changed their practices or not.

Where? He very briefly makes a tongue in cheek joke about how people might already use a VPN for "legally downloading backups of your movies and games" from the Pirate Bay, I fail to see how that encourages people to use it.

I've not watched the Linus vid but it wont have been 100% guaranteed that the flight would be cheaper, you'd need to check a number of flights against a number of VPN locations and against a number of providers.
As above the airlines may have changed practice now also, you've also got currency conversion to think of so may still be cheaper in say Euro or another currency
Just doing one test and just giving up isn't how these things tend to work.
