New Dell IPS S2721DGF 165hz gaming monitor

So... i have looked at dell's site and found this monitor in three different places (This is ths S2721DGF A variant specifically)
1- on the "home site" that you would navigate to using the options when looking for a monitor.... according to this page the monitor is out of stock with a price of £487.50
https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/del...dgf/apd/210-avwe/monitors-monitor-accessories
2- on the early black Friday deals section that you navigate to by clicking the banner on the dell homepage - according to this page the monitor is in stock available to ship next day at £390
https://deals.dell.com/en-uk/productdetail/64x6
3- on the Dell "Work" site that is business orientated... This also lists the monitor in stock and available to ship on 11/11 @ £325+vat (£390)
https://www.dell.com/en-uk/work/sho...gfa/apd/210-axrq/monitors-monitor-accessories

Personally i think that it's out of stock and the Work / early black friday deals pages are not correctly updated somehow.

I hope i'm wrong but I fear the worse.

Anyone have any experience of how long refunds take if you cancel with dell?

This first link you have sent is a different variant of the monitor. It is out of stock because it's delivered from China. The A variant is showing as in stock and is delivered from the Netherlands.

Third delay email here now.

For some reason, I thought of Dell like John Lewis:

1. Not the quickest
2. Reliable
3. A good returns process

Tick for the first (not a great thing, but expected); big fail on the second; hopefully I won't need to test the third!

I’m getting a bit confused on the state of play of everyone waiting..

Has anyone actually received one of these in say the last 2 weeks from Dell direct? (DGF or DGFA)

Mine was ordered 12th Oct, production since 26th and showing due to be shipped today.

Keep us updated. Mine is showing as delayed and due for 13th Nov but still doesn't not show as in production. I ordered on 7th Nov and it's due to go into production. Could take a while though judging by how long your's is taking.

Dell didn't charge me until they had shipped and cancellation was very easy

Apologies.. i missed the lack of the A on the product page... funny thing is if you go to the dell home website, select monitors, and filter to 1440p 1ms response then the only model shown is the "non A" model ...

No prob ... they may have intentionally unlisted the product from their listing page to help deal with demand. It's pretty popular at its price point. But that's just speculation from me.

Across your posts you seem to be concerned that you can't get refunded in time incase you need to purchase another monitor in time for xmas. You could always use PayPal credit.

I certainly haven't.

S2721DGF ordered 4th Oct, delayed till 18th Dec and currently 'In Production'
S2721DGFA ordered 6th Nov, delayed till 13th Nov and currently 'Confirmed'

Email received from Dell support after I called again today to enquire:

Hope you are doing well.

This is [redacted] from Dell customer care and this is in regards with your order #[redacted].

I apologize for the delay with your order.

The reason your order is delayed is due to a supplier issue with parts. Dell is currently working with our suppliers and will strive to expedite the delivery date.

I have raised a request with our internal team to get the order expedited and we will try our best to get the order delivered to you as soon as possible.

I will be assigning this Service request to one of our case specialists who will follow up with you and will keep you updated.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to respond directly to this email. I will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you for your patience.

Not sure what else to do really, other than wait. I'm tempted to order the LG equivalent (I use two monitors so replacing both is the plan anyway) but I'm curious to see what this follow-up consists off.

If you search for S2721DFG it shows both the variants and the DGFA is the one that can be ordered. I ordered the DGFA through the online chat since my discount code wasn't working properly and the sales guy processed it no problem so I don't think it's intentionally hidden. Most likely the website management guys are not exactly star material.

"Thank you for your recent order with Dell. We are working to ship your order as quickly as possible. The delivery date for your order to arrive has been updated to 13/11/2020."

:(

I can save you the wait with the reply I had...

"Hi,

I'm sorry for delay, but not depended from us but from factory. Actually parts for complete your monitor are still not available.

Best regards, "

Thanks Dell Support, you're the best
So they're saying it'll take just two days for:

1. Part to arrive
2. Complete assembly
3. Pass QC
4. Ship to distribution centre
5. Get sent to you

Wow Dell, you're really fast at doing this :p

Pretty sure the FA is being shipped from Netherlands ... if someone knows the language they could always contact Dell BV in Amsterdam ... see whats goin on XD

ok got mine in September but I agree when talking to the customer windup dept it is crazy. but as ive listed before that dept is in india . in the uk dells offices are at Bracknell and they handle the shipping and accounts and as we are in lockdown maybe affecting their staff levels etc.

Has anyone watched LTT's mystery shopper vid from last night? Seems like Dell is operating exactly as expected :D

I watched that - somehow even if this monitor turns up I don't think I'll be ordering anything from DELL for a very very long time

and the CS calls I had we're all answered by the Indian dept who were clearly clueless (that's why I went via text chat to sales in the end)
