New Dell IPS S2721DGF 165hz gaming monitor

Highly considering doing this too, let me know how it goes!

Can't see them price matching the £280 as it's not a published price and you can't even get it by adding a code on the dell website-

I can get the price down by 6.5% by using blue light discount but its no where near the dell mythical £280.

The other issue is Model number... technically the Dell model number is the A model so it would be different to the non A being sold at the takeaway

Ordered for £280.80... took about 4 or 5 sales reps to get it done, but came through eventually. For sure what to do now... have 3 on order! My other A order (put in on the 4th) they've knocked 10% off for messing me around, making it £298. When this £280 order gets inevitably delayed I'll see if I can get 10% off it again, making it £252. That would be a good price then!

Me: "Hi there. I'm looking to purchase a Dell 27 Gaming Monitor- S2721DGFA https://deals.dell.com/en-uk/productdetail/64x6"
Me: "One of my colleagues and friends has purchased it today for £280 incl. VAT, so It'd be great if you could please match that for me"

Agent: "Let me check"
Me: "Thanks"
Agent: "Please help me with your last name, full address and phone number to create a profile on your name and to send you a quote."
Me: "Sure..."
Agent: "Please check your email"
Agent: "I have sent a quote"
Me: "That's great, thanks"
Me: "all looks good"

Agent: "Please click on the link and complete the payment"
Agent: "Let me know once done"
Me: "Thank you, just done"
Agent: "I have confirmed the order"

Whether you get the Dell or the LG, the panel is amazing. I came from a U2412M so I had a lot to gain by any monitor purchase, but wow, I'm well happy. I may not even bother with the Dell for a while!

Honest question... what is everyone's realistic expectation r.e. delivery times on these new £280 orders?

Probably next year, but at that price I'm beyond caring. They'll probably get a huge delivery and send them all out at once.

anyone able to pm me an order number for a price match at all please?

You really don't need one, just choose 'Business Use' when starting a chat

They've offered the £280 price.. my number one issue is i need the screens before Christmas. I'm going to order them and if they don't ship by the 25th i'll cancel and try to pick something else up at black Friday deals

It's been a long while since I've posted on here but thought I'd give my experience as I've gone through the same Dell monitor saga.

I ordered the original non A version on 5 October with an expected delivery date of 4 November. The order has been delayed 3 times now and was expected to arrive today. Zero updates on that. I checked the HUKD thread and decided if I'm going to be waiting weeks then I want it at the best price I can possibly get. I'm in no rush as I need a new build but don't plan on doing that until next year anyway so I'm happy to wait.

I followed the suggestions as per that thread and went on the business chat. First attempt was useless. I was just offered the current price of £390. The second attempt I asked if they could match a price I had seen of £278.77. The agent did. They sent the quote and I paid for it. I don't expect it to be delivered any time soon and it will probably be in January going by my previous order and the amount of units they are shifting.

Persistence is key. I'm going to cancel my previous order from October. I'm sure they'll be more delays and possibly even potential issues with the usual panel issues etc. which could cause further delays. I’m happy with that price as I'm still currently using my trusty Dell 2209WA.

I just tried and got told that this was a mistake and management have stopped the price. Is this what other people were told on the multiple attempts?

Don't forget, once your order gets delayed, phone Customer Care and complain (not web chat, actually call them). They can then offer a 10% refund, bringing the price down further. You get that OK'd and they'll send you an email confirming that you should call them back after it's been delivered and they'll credit you 10%

Thanks @doug_1986, I sent an email today, ETA has not been updated and was due to be delivered today... righto.

I never got a chance to call CS today, pinged an email instead so will see how it fairs (crash & burn spring to mind), will try calling on Monday.

Are we seriously looking at orders not being honoured before, say, mid-December? 2 months since the original order! Holy moly.

I've tried with about 10 different agents, all come out with different BS stories why it can't be done now, best offer I got was £300 and I said poke it unless I get the £280.80 deal They can get lost. Tbh even then I will probably end up cancelling it and buying a different monitor as there are better ones out very soon, yes they're more expensive but I don't really care about the saving from Dell it's the principle and the fact the dodgy Indians lie through their teeth.

I tried that. It's collection only, which is fine. Got to check out and put in my postcode... none in my area. Tried my work post code, 70 miles away, none in that area either.

YMMV but good luck :)

Man that sucks, I just checked and there is one 0.8miles from me, if they can't match £280 I ll see what they can go down to, if its close to £320 or so, I ll just go and get it. Cba to wait months for the sake of a few quid.

The guy I just had did actually ask me for a previous order number, he said the best he could do was £325 ex. VAT without me providing one.

Did the same to me provided a quote and still wouldn't do it. I think my name must be blacklisted with them or something, I've spoken to countless reps none will do me the same deal. Given up even trying now

Isn't pretending to be a student to get the cheap price lying through your teeth? It's not the sales reps fault if they aren't allowed to give everyone a price that is not even achievable with their maximum discount codes. I got a discount to £293 as an NHS worker so you should be happy getting a quote for £300 if you aren't really eligible in the first place.

A few pages back everybody was going mental over getting a screaming deal @ £330, which is what I paid. As far as I can see the LG is still more expensive.

I can't really see the hate for not being able to blag £200 off the list price on a one off retail tbh, the price is clear and on the website.
Presumably you don't haggle with the checkout staff at Tesco over your shopping. Same rules apply.

These sort of discretionary pricing deals are usually only negotiable when you are dealing with an account manager and ordering them two or three hundred at a time.
