Yeah - cost of flash is clearly the main thing holding it back
I said the same at the time of release, think it was pretty obvious.
It's a sacrifice in the life of a product which will inevitably turn out to be a great success, imo.

Am I the only one who sees the Classic as the swan song for the harddisk-based iPod?
Certainly the name "Classic" suggests it could be a collectable when they go all-flash, who knows![]()

I hate to think how many people have handled that thing! I'm suprised they didn't offer it to you
... having to persuade them is the opposite to what I'd expect![]()
This makes for a difficult decision, I really like the nano and touch.
