I said the same at the time of release, think it was pretty obvious.
It's a sacrifice in the life of a product which will inevitably turn out to be a great success, imo.

Am I the only one who sees the Classic as the swan song for the harddisk-based iPod?
Certainly the name "Classic" suggests it could be a collectable when they go all-flash, who knows

I hate to think how many people have handled that thing! I'm suprised they didn't offer it to you
... having to persuade them is the opposite to what I'd expect
This makes for a difficult decision, I really like the nano and touch.
