Well said.. The classic/touch split seems like a smart move when it comes down to it. By making the commitment to flash on the flagship model, I'm sure they'll get preference/discounts when the real high capacity stuff appears!
I'm aware of the flash memory situation, Apple are a bit ahead of the game in that respect. With memory always getting cheaper I'd love to see where the Touch will go in the next year or two.
I'm tempted by a classic but I a) don't want to use itunes and have heard they are restricting more strongly now and b) am unsure of the sound quality on these, and yes, I would be using osmething other than the trashy headphones that come with it.
16gb Touch is in my hand now.. manages to pick on up from Fenwicks in newcastle at lunch time.. With a little sweet talking I managed to get hold of the display model.
Initial impressions, very nice.. having a little trouble getting Wi-Fi connected to BTOpenZone but that could be a problem with the building (having problems with my Laptop as well). One thing is that it does get greesy...
I had the same so I just bought both , I run a lot so I need small and I use Nike+ so I bought nano but I also love Internet on the go, and future e-books for touch so I got that too
I'm just reading this week's MacUser and they have a 8 page article about the iPod Touch!.. I have the classic, and plan on getting the iPhone but it's so hard to resist!!
