Hi all quick update: Got the G9 today. No QC sticker.
No idea if it's 01 or 02, how do I find out?
Set it up (GPU is 2080Ti), came with firmware 1004, updated it to 1005.4. Setting up and updating was easy.
Resolution 5120x1440, 240hz, 10bit HDR. Works but gsync doesn't. There's a paper in the box saying gsync might not work at this res/hz.
Resolution 5120x1440, 120hz, 10 bit HDR. Works with gsync as expected.
I have my nVidia settings as low latency: ultra; vsync on; gsync on; and frame rate limit 1 less than the monitor refresh rate, meaning I played about with 119fps/gsync on and 239fps/gsync off.
No flicker whatsoever. Everything I've tested so far with 120/gsync on has been perfect as expected.
I tried everything with 240/gsync and vsync off, but I didn't like it. I'm one of those people who is VERY sensitive to tearing/frame rate dips or spikes, so the moment I notice it I can't stop noticing it. I much prefer lowering the refresh rate to 120, and having my settings as I normally have them as listed above, gsync and all. Buttery smooth.
One bug I noticed: at 240hz, when you disable HDR, this happens (see picture). I have to reboot to get rid of it. At 120hz this doesn't happen. It's like the very early days of 4k where windows was fooled into thinking it had 2 monitors side by side.
