New Star Trek series - 2017

So did i miss something somewhere where Discovery's warp nacelles are disconnected from the hull and only connect to it when it goes to warp? Only noticed it in the last episode and was wondering wtf. They seem to just be floating alongside the ship. :confused:

Yeah, it was mentioned when the ship was refitted between episodes. It's supposed to make the ship more manoeuvrable, somehow.

Aye. The crew were retrained and ship had a shedload of upgrades.

When the ship got its future tech refit. A lot of the ship was changed. The detached nacelles were part of it. So was the colour change of the outside of the ship and the corridors that connected the rings in the saucer section were also removed.

I think most of it was to undo all the things they didn't like from the original design demands that Fuller put on it. They've really tried to distance themselves from season 1.

Its dire, it`s one of the worst sci-fi shows ever made even the crap that was made in the 50s had better writing than this.

What? Are you incapable of working out that other folk might actually hold a difference of opinion from your lordly self?

No its not at TNG or DS9 (or even Voyagers) best but its Startrek and its on the telly, its improved a lot and still needs some improving but its far from the garbage tip.

This is the same ******* **** that happened with Stargate universe, lots of petulant little ***** online moaning because it was... bla bla bla and look what happened, no more Stargate for a decade or more.

Wind it in chaps, i dont have a problem if folk dont like it, i dont even think its brilliant either but its better than NOTHING.

Well, with the number of times it was declared cancelled already (and Picard was declared cancelled before the first episode even aired!) I'm just gonna wait and see on that one. And that vid does seem to be just like all those others that declared it cancelled long before Season 3 - lots of wanging on about costs, about an agenda against 'straight white males', light on actual named sources and corroboration ;)
