I'm going to call it now and i think its going to be a a 50/50 Klingon/Human + token vulcan Federation crewed ship.

Captain federation - Female - Janeway mk2.
1st officer - Feisty klingon male but learns to respect humans blah blah unusual crap -
Lots of Minor officers that hate each other to start with but grow together over a common cause.. (emergence of Romulans) some interspecies sexy times amongst other plots.
Some teen angst. I don't think we are out of the Angst zone yet in SCI-FI.

Terrible ship. It is only test footage though so maybe they will listen to the negative feedback and improve it.

Don't like the ship at all. Most ST ships have been graceful and smooth with curves and arcs. That's all straight lines and angles. Don't like.

That is actually pretty similar to a design of the enterprise for Star Trek phase 2.

For me nothing will beat DS9.

I also don't understand the move away from "monster of the week" episodes, intersperse them an arc yeah but mixing it up is always better.

Yeah, Bird of Prey was the first thing I thought of too!

Nothing wrong with 'Monster of the Week', but you do get a lot of fillers, boring (subjective!) episodes. They tried the story arc thing with Enterprise and IMO, that's what killed it. Then again, depends on the writers. Looks at the arc in Babylon 5, awesome and mindblowing (let's forget about s5).

Interesting post over at Scified suggesting the new ship design is almost identical to the never made 1970's series ship...

I keep hoping a new B5 series or movie will be announced... and that Christopher Franke will be involved in the soundtrack :cool:

So it's a Vorcha hull with a Federation saucer instead of the standard nose.

I wonder if we get an in series reason the ship is half Klingon or if we're just supposed to roll with it.

Would you really want new B5 though? As much as I love the series I cannot visual any way, shape or form it could be rebooted or continued and recapture the magic it had.

Just remaster it properly (especially the false letterbox whenever CGI mixes with live action) and re-air it as is.

Except maybe getting rid of all of Season 5 except Londo's arc and the final episode.

Yer I thought the smashed a Enterprise A and Klingon D7 together with a hint of Enterprise D
