New Star Trek series - 2017

Would you really want new B5 though? As much as I love the series I cannot visual any way, shape or form it could be rebooted or continued and recapture the magic it had.

Just remaster it properly (especially the false letterbox whenever CGI mixes with live action) and re-air it as is.

Except maybe getting rid of all of Season 5 except Londo's arc and the final episode.

The untold story... The Telepath war!!!

The Vorlons and Shadows both left fragments of themselves behind...

Lyta's powers were only beginning to manifest...

Some amazing possibilities:cool:

I agree with the time that's past it may be hard to recapture what was and it's more likely to be a reboot... but it's such a rich universe I'd hop on the next whitestar for the ride:cool::D

Interesting on YT comments that guy who created the original McQuarrie design passed away recently so CBS may have made the ship on purpose as a nod to him.

But yeah others saying it looks terrible, or mish mash of a klingon bird of prey.

Still we have no idea what type of series it is but that ship is official its on the CBS website, I still hope they can flick in and out of crews and ships even stations and hopefully they pick the best crew to ensemble for the new flagship Enterprise in the 24th Century lol

other than the new films, I dislike Star Trek.
but watching the Tested podcast and apparently it isn't episodic like all other star treks and each season is going to be like a novel. ie proper story ark.

now this I like, I hate episodic sci fi and never understood why everyone followed that star trek move.

Have you not watched DS9? That epic story arcs i.e. the Dominion Wars.

What about Crusade, that was good, wasn't it  :p

original, next generation, voyager, enterprise

...and not forgetting Voyager with the Species 8472 and Borg arcs too.

voyager is still episodic. there maybe story arcs, but its still absolutely one episode one story.
which this new series is more like a novel, so you don't get one story episodes.

Nope crusade was absolutely rubbish.

As for b5 show. If it was rebooted with new characters a new time in the universe it might work. Say 100 years after the events of b5. To see how things evolved. Maybe some ancients come back from the beyond after finding it was boring or somit. That or just have 2 epic races that were like vorlons and shadows make a appearance and f everything up for Babylon 10 as after 100 years or so i reckon b5 might be destroyed or abandoned by then.

Anyhow about new trek show. I hope they cast it well and it has a starfleet feeling to it as Enterprise was ok but it just wasnt trek enough for me, dated too early i think let it down. Had some good episodes but i didnt like the crew that much compared to say tng crew.

I noticed all the series are now on Netflix, but I'm slightly confused. Are they all on the same timeline and are they all different times or do the series overlap?

DS9 overlaps with TNG. Voyager overlaps/is concurrent-ish with DS9.
They're all pretty much in the same rough time frame, with Voyager being the latest and TNG being the earliest.

Must be said first few seasons of ds9 were rubbish, potentially the worst trek (IMO) but onwards easily the best trek (again IMO)

First 2 series of TNG is like watching planks talking. The characters are there but they are so baaaaaad. Troi is the worst. She's like a cheerleader on autocue.

Lots of debate on the internet recently due to the new vid

So many comments but noticed some said this:

Could be set after ST6 undiscovered country, they backed this up with the phaser design. But did also mention it could be a refit or upgrade on an older ship.

Other random post:

Someone said this is why they tried to sue Axanar since the time period and ship design conflicts and looks the same as what the new series was aiming for hence the reason why star trek producers went mad at the 1 mill fan based project.

Funniest comment from that YT post:

Star Trek: SG1 - A New Hope: Crusade

I think its looking an older design but yeah kinda ST5/6 film based era, its not after Voyager clearly, so lets just hope its set on multiple ships or different time frames.
