Legacy. The new stadium and the memory of who ‘built’ it will live long after his billions have passed through a couple of generations of his progeny.Yes I do. It's overdue and don't see why it wont. I don't know what motivates a 72ish year old to get involved in stuff like this. I mean he could not even live to see it built. The club seems like a huge thing to get involved in at that time of life.
Could be worse: this one was once proposed for Battersea in London:

Project like this should take 10 years but they will do it in 5

Love all the armchair architects on here.
At the moment it's surely just a Show Pony. How’s it’s getting financed? Depending on how it’s financed can greatly affect the benefits of the new stadium.
Interest on loans etc isnt free and has to be accounted for in PSR etc.
no bias was also the problem with that tower. Turns out suction cup foundations don't work for tall buildings. We're not just armchair football managers, owners or players, we're architects too. No bias!
iirc Man U have bought a few of those in their time.At the moment it's surely just a Show Pony.
Plenty of suckers at OT these daysno bias was also the problem with that tower. Turns out suction cup foundations don't work for tall buildings.
Anyone who still has a season ticket for one, though the same could be said for plenty of other clubs, not least my own relegation bound farce.Plenty of suckers at OT these days
I was thinking more the players/managementAnyone who still has a season ticket for one, though the same could be said for plenty of other clubs, not least my own relegation bound farce.
suckers isn't quite the word I'd use for thoseI was thinking more the players/management
Dubai? Looks like Butlins in MineheadI don’t dislike the design, but it does look like it belongs in Dubai…
I’m sure it would be impressive.
