Newcastle part company with Hughton

Newcastle needed to go down season before last, it was the only to get rid of the chaff and focus the players that stayed.

All the good work that was done last season, and this, is now completely undone.
Newcastles only chance of success was based on the atmosphere Houghton created around the team and the bond he had built with the players.
Bringing in a "manager" like O'Neil or Jol is only going to work if they are given money to spend, money Ashley doesnt have.
O'Neil wont play youngsters and and I dont think Jol is the kind of manager to get the best out of the players there, much as I like him.

Words fail me! Hughton did a fantastic job turning Newcastle around from the shambles it was in when they were relegated. To not only win the Championship but win it with relative ease, when it could have very easily been the start of the clubs demise.

Chris took the job when nobody wanted it and brought much needed stability and certainly didn’t deserve this. He has had a good start to the season thumping Villa 6-0, pulverising Sunderland 5-1 and holding Chelsea to 1-1. I think he’s done a great job, mid table with the remit this season to just stay up.

Ashley needs to get out as it’s clear he simply doesn’t care and respect the club, it’s supporters and hasn’t a clue what he’s doing!

Ashley simply will not invest the money Jol or O'neil will want..I suspect he still wants out of the club and will not want to tie himself financially to it for longer than he has to.

He has a habit of making wierd decisions and this looks liek one of them...along with his next appointment..he also doesnt care what newcastle fans think of him so he's not going to care whether his next managerial appointment is popular with the fans.

I think he will suprise us all again like he did with kinnear last time...it will be an older head who maybe hasnt managed for a while but with a fair bit of experience..he also likes his cockney chums around him...I reckon Venables or Hoddle to confound the bookies!

Well not to worry, Newcastle fans will obviously show their displeasure by boycotting any home or away games to show Ashley exactly what they think of his ownership.

Or more likely they'll just carry on turning up and cheer the next manager to be brought in.

Before I say anything else let me point out I am disgusted and dissapointed with the decision. First manager since Bobby to take things in the right direction and this is how he is rewarded.

However let's be honest we are an average team. Why risk morale by boycotting games? Similar to the Liverpool fans you can support your club but not stay away. They have to show our displeasure to Ashley not the players who have done nothing wrong.

I would love to see us newcastle fans start some campaign to try and get rid of Mike Ashley like Man Utd have done. It shows that they still support their team but just dont like the owners.

Exactly same scenario here!!!

:(

And if you have a season ticket...

Yeah, because United have been sooooo successful :p

Ashley needs his head examined. Newcastle aren't exactly bottom or struggling are they. What did he expect for the first few months in the Prem?

I think CH has done a superb job at Newcastle considering where they were a few years ago. He needs to actually start backing his staff else suffer the same fate which he instigated before. I feel for the fans.

Rumours buzzing around that they received a big offer for Carroll from Spurs (Crouch on the way then?) which Ashley wanted to accept, manager said no .. etc etc.

in all honesty though...he he does appoint Pardew it wil be a shocking decision, not driven by footballing reasons but because he is mates with the chairman and will be somebody who won't rock the boat.

1 of my brothers and my sister are both black and whiters and they are gutted..it really isnt a step forward, and it shows Ashleys total disregard and contempt for the fans

Hmmm Pardew to take over at the most mis-managed , under acheiving , delusional football club in the EPL. :o

Sounds very much like yet another recipe for disaster and ridicule, cant wait :p

Just when Newcastle were looking to be a solid stable club after promotion back into the premiership last year, Ashley goes and buggers it up again. Replacing Hughton with Pardew what's that all about.
