*** Nintendo Switch ***

See I thought that might be the case but didn't have my switch in front of me to check. It could also be limited to handheld mode rather than docked as that's when it's more likely to be accidentally powered on

Yes it's because if it's loose in your bag you could potentially switch it on by accident. Whether it's one press or 3 it's not really a hardship. THREE presses FML!

I don't understand. I just press the Home button and it switches itself on. What's the three button press thing?

Some people just like to complain instead of spending 5 seconds choosing the settings that work for them. :p

I have checked though, and there is no "use folders like the 3DS and Wii" setting :(

Thats good to hear. Was thinking of running dual 1440p monitors for my PC and wasn't sure if I should get a 4k just so the switch doesn't look too blurry.

The Switch only supports 1080p anyway, and you won’t notice any different with scaling to 1440p or 4K.

Yeah its more so to do with mix usage between my PC and Switch. Unfortunately I missed out on getting that recent LG 4K 160Hz monitor so I think I'll probably settle for 1440p one (which is certainly better for my wallet lol).

Same here. Not played the originals although I did pick them up a while ago in my attempt to own all the main series games on the DS. They're still sat in my queue (not commuting really hindered my plans) so I'll probably keep them for the collection and go straight to the newer ones.

Completed Link's Awakening and enjoyed that a lot, it's basically 1-1 to the GB 1990's version, very well designed by an older generation. Playing Monster Hunter Rise now, surprised how similar it is performance wise to the PC Monster Hunter World game, though obviously cut a lot of corners for Switch. Still looks and plays great.

Hit a roadblock with Pokemon Sword, not the game's fault, but after playing a few turn based RPGs back in the day that had too many battles to slog through, I think I'm done with turn based RPGs. I can still play turn based strategy like Xcom but not sure I'll come back to it. Definitely glad I bought it on cart so could resell, may give it another chance.

Dragon quest XII announced altho no release date or what platforms it'll be on but I assume it'll be on switch considering they released XI on switch and plenty of dragon quest spins offs were announced

This might launch on Game Pass.

Edit: sorry forgot what thread I was in.

Anyones thoughts on the new switch model rumours? Seems like an announcement may happen before e3 with the amount of sources saying as much.
I really don't want to buy a third Switch (OG & Lite)

What I'd like to know is how older games will take advantage of it, will they need to be patched or just have an automatic performance boost?

If it's significant, I may bite, but if it's just an incremental boost, it's a no for me

I'm very curious on that too. Supposedly 4k output would be supported. My old switch from launch day is showing its wear (noisy fans, reduced battery life etc.) so I'm very much looking forward to whatever Nintendo has in store.

Would also be nice if they use a different joycon controller thats less prone to drift (or at least very easily replaceable joysticks since they're just consumeables at this point).
