*** Nintendo Switch ***

Amazon.fr but you can't get it for that price any more.

I will get 12% off that price too as we only pay 8% VAT here. I'm very happy to wait 5 days for that price saving.

Ahhh OK.

I've read reports about an Amazon.pt coming - I hope to god this happens. Not necessarily for the Switch but because I use Amazon a LOT.

I think you're setting yourself up for more disappointment :p

I like the idea that they're going to offer it for free to get feedback/get it right first though. Well, attempt to.

I would expect £10-£15 per month, roughly. Depends what kind of services. They may open up a whole catalogue of games yet. Who knows!

Yes. A friends brother went to the UK event and one of the first things he mentioned was that the joy cons were very comfortable to hold individually when playing Zelda and the Rumble HD was crazy. Like insanely accurate. Just depends on if devs make use of it!

£10-15 a month isn't happening not when Sony and Microsoft only charge £40 a year.

Also they aren't offering their service for free first, they just won't charge for multiplayer until they have finalised their services.

Is that what Sony/MS Charge?

God it's been so long I couldn't remember....:o woops

Ok, ignore my pricing guess then.

Most us criticising Nintendo aren't doing it because we hate the company, we're doing it because we know they could be amazing, they could be leaders but are constantly making boneheaded decisions

Could be amazing? They've never stopped!

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, they are happy with where they are in regards to their position within the gaming world and feel they don't need to have a full spec'd, 4K graphics Nintendo console on the market?

As I've said previously, I applaud them for at least having the balls to go out and be different.

Dreamcast was better. It was different yet offered high quality gaming.

You can do and achieve both u know!

I wouldn't put it past them to charge £5 a month. Honestly they put way too much worth on their previous catalog of games.

They may of seen the first out cry and change that, but honestly they are deluded at times.

Amazon in my country would never be allowed as it would smash the competition and they have very protectionist principles here.

In fact the locals are up in arms whenever I import anything and get cross at the money I saved

Maybe they're happy, but gamers, for the most part, haven't been. However you cut it, the WiiU bombed hard.

You know what would have excited me more than any amount of Zelda and Mario footage during the Switch reveal? - a new Pilot Wings. An F-Zero. A new 1080. A proper, flagship StarFox. And, just perhaps, something new! You say they never stopped being great, but they were great because they consistently came out with great new stuff. New IP after new IP. That's what's changed.

And shipped less than 10m units, was a disaster for Sega and helped push them out of the console market. Almost a million of those consoles were sold for between $99 and $49 to get rid of the stock.

Multiple addons for the mega drive and the Sega Saturn were Sega's main issues.

Falling out with EA didn't help either.

Notice how Nintendo also don't have proper EA support?

End of year charts have multiple EA franchises high up the list, mainstream gamers love their games and Nintendo don't get them.

Just got this email from shopto re my pre-order

Dear Customer,

We are pleased to inform you all customers who have pre-ordered the Grey Switch Console will be receiving the console for launch on 3rd March.

Unfortunately, the red/blue console is very short in the market so customers who ordered before Saturday 14th January at 1.30pm will be fulfilled. Pre-orders after this time will be after launch in the second wave, the date is unknown at this point.

If there are cancellations on either of the consoles, then the site will allow new orders to be made up to the pre-order allocation received from Nintendo.

Kind Regards,

The ShopTo Team

I ordered the grey, still in two minds at the moment though.

You might as well keep it if you can afford it.

Worst case is that you can scalp the hell out of it, or return it if stock exists

I probably will to be fair. Got quite a decent amount of Wii U stuff which would probably cover the console anyway.

Me too, however your Fifa's and Battlefields ship hefty units and can help make or break consoles.

That's it. The people in this thread aren't asking for 3rd party support so they can play EA games - they're asking for it because they want the console to be a success. The better the Switch sells the more games we'll have - and that includes games from more interesting developers. There's also more chance Nintendo will stray from the comfort zone they've been burred in for years now and remind everyone how they earned their reputation in the first place.

Where in the world are you?
