*** Nintendo Switch ***

So i plan on using a wired internet connection via lan adaptor when i set up my Switch dock at home. What would happen if i undock it when midway through an online race in MarioKart? would it lose the connection or does it use the same tech as the Wii U gamepad?

I think if you are going to undock it midway through a race in mario kart, the LAN disconnecting wont have a huge effect on your game lol

I wonder if the joycons smart charge i.e. wont charge when the switch isn't docked to try save console battery life.

Not sure anyone knows that but from Nintendo site the capacity of what I assume is each controller is only 525mah. That's 1000mah for both and the console has 4200 or so. Even if there was no smart charging I doubt it would be the end of the world as the controllers have 20 hours of charge(thus low power). It's unlikely they will ever get anywhere near low charge at the point you need to charge the console as you will generally charge them both at the same time

They will use a lot less power when connected as they won't be using wireless communication.

I was thinking more about if the controllers were low on charge but the console was not. It would actually be pretty cool if the console could be powered in part by the joycons to extend battery. Probably not going to happen though

The more I read, the more I feel the gig is up for Nintendo. They were great in the late 80's to mid 90's, and have had a few 'hits' since, but everything is now just so 'samey'.

Decided today to sell my ps4 for this, from my old thread I've summed up how long ive played and just under 60 hours on my ps4 since (2015)

Witcher 3 - 5hours
Last os us - 3hours
Destiny - 6-7Hours
Diablo 3 30+ ish

I can see myself playing this more with the mrs too.

Looks like your just buying the wrong games.

I'm afraid you need to hand over your gamer card and leave at the nearest exit.

:P haha Warbie

Maybe Sasahara... after co-op games we have played all the lego games...

Diablo 3 caught our attention due to the long playability, & id love to spend a weekend playing but work stupid hours and have a 3yr so can't use it as much as id like.

Yeah that's why i am wondering about the charge. If they are at 75% will it suck up console power in order to charge them to 100% needlessly? I'd hope they wouldn't charge unless the console is docked tbh or if they were pretty much dead.

Is that confirmed that they will switch between wireless and wired?? I'd have thought that would add freezing/delays when you disconnect them.

There is definitely a data connection between the console and the controllers as connecting them physically to the console is how they synchronise.

I like my PS4 but the portability of the Switch will be great for me as I have a 3 year old and another due in 2 weeks, very rarely get the chance to take over the TV.
