there is also cramped as in having your hands close together.

With the joycons you could for instance have either hand resting on an armrest and still be playing where with a controller you can't.

I've never had that problem with a controller, and I never appreciated having separated left/right controls on the Wii .

I think I'll keep the Pro pre-order.

I've kept my pro-controller pre-order as I imagine I'll use it more over the coming months

I'm holding fire on the pro controller until I get my hands on the joy cons. Can't justify the price unless I feel I really need it and several people have reported the pro controller wasn't very comfortable. Someone also said it felt like a mad catz 3rd party controller rather than an OEM one which worries me!

Hmm, got any links? I've not read enough about it.

It was a random youtube video that appeared on my feed but but they had some pretty harsh things to say about the Pro Controller after getting their hands on one.

I'm annoyed cause I kind of want the Pro Controller but don't feel comfortable paying £70 for it until I can actually get my hands on one so I can make the call myself on how comfortable and well made it is!

As others have said I'd actually rather buy another set of JoyCons if I'm going to spend that much. Hopefully some of the 3rd parties will bring out a cheaper controller with a D-Pad as playing retro/emulated games is the only reason I actually want the Pro controller! Either that or hopefully Nintendo release a left Joy-Con with a D-pad!

If going to cancel the pro controller order, useful to probably order the joycon charging grip so you can charge and play while the console is docked

Completely unnecessary IMO.
The controllers last 20 hrs & charge while plugged into the console - are you really going to play > 20 hrs in a session ?

Also can't see why anyone would order a pro controller for 1 player games without at least trying the included joycons + grip - functionally identical apart from 2 player where the joycons are better !

Really don't get why people want to spend so much on accessories when the base packages comes with so much - why not give it a month or 2 and see ?

Only accessory I have pre-ordered was the pair of wheels for MK8D which worked out nearly for free with the Amazon deal anyway :)

The only thing I probably have in common with Donald Trump is having small hands, so the Joy-Cons will be fine for me. Oh and no, I am living evidence that there is no correlation between hand size and the size of you know what! :p

I dont buy the "earlier build" of Zelda excuse for frame rate issues for a second. This has been a constant throughout the last year with a lot of hands on and why show an earlier build with 3 weeks left until launch?

If I am using it as a home console then I'll likely to treat it like a home console so that means I'll leave the joy con connected to the charging accessory pad thing like a built in battery for extended life and when it runs out, I'll use a lead old fashion way.

I really cba to take 2 joy cons off, attach it to the plastic piece, then reverse the process at the end. I'll just turn it off and put it down.

I did preorder the pro controller, but im going to give the joycons in the grip a chance so cancelled my pro controller
However i agree with Raymond, i would rather have the chargeable grip there just in case i need it, so i have ordered that instead

Can't comment on the switch specifically but when the original xbox came out I went to a similar pre release event and they were using an earlier build of project Gotham racing despite it being close to release.

I have been to plenty of events where this has been normal . This is mainly for NDA reasons so people don't leak spoilers of the final game.

Surely they would have had time to polish off those old demos as they progressed on the full game.

Less than a month to release and no advertising again, good old Nintendo... I asked a few old friends if they are getting a Nintendo Switch the other day as we all grew up on the N64 then later Camecube (they game casually due to family and work commitments nowadays), they had now idea what I was talking about, yet they knew that Red Dead Redemption 2 was coming out, a game revealed the same day as a new Nintendo console...

If Sony or Microsoft had a console launch it would be everywhere so close to launch day

On the contrary I know plenty of people who know about the Switch. A couple of colleagues are buying on release.

I was referring to when you play multiple days and forget to charge the controller in between or if someone else used the console and didn't charge. Have had that plenty of times on the ps4 but with a port nearby means I don't have to wait around and can just play!

Good point on waiting for the accessories as it's likely they won't be out of stock on launch day.
