*** Nintendo Switch ***

This is a random question im sure nobody will know the answer to but i will ask it anyway. Does the case from the official case + screen protector kit have a separate space for the cartridges similar to what the Hori case has?

It seems to be impossible to get images of the inside of the case...

To answer my own question it doesn't

I was referring to when you play multiple days and forget to charge the controller in between or if someone else used the console and didn't charge. Have had that plenty of times on the ps4 but with a port nearby means I don't have to wait around and can just play!

Good point on waiting for the accessories as it's likely they won't be out of stock on launch day.

I guess, I'm thinking you'll probably always store them on the console though, rather than leave them lying around like larger pads.

I will also set up an alert. I know I said I would wait but if they're gonna honour that price it would be stupid not to buy it :p

Less than a month to release and no advertising again, good old Nintendo... I asked a few old friends if they are getting a Nintendo Switch the other day as we all grew up on the N64 then later Camecube (they game casually due to family and work commitments nowadays), they had now idea what I was talking about, yet they knew that Red Dead Redemption 2 was coming out, a game revealed the same day as a new Nintendo console...

If Sony or Microsoft had a console launch it would be everywhere so close to launch day

How many ads did you see for the PS Pro or PSVR for that matter? Times have changed when it comes to ad's for console's. Its all pushed by 3rd party game ads now.

almost sure that must be a publicity stunt, and a clever one at that. the price is so good, everyone will be sharing the link to the website. it's out of stock and i'm sure it'll be out of stock until release and then up to full or a higher price.

Does anyone know what kind of price retailers are buying the switch at? I'd have thought that gameseek would be losing money selling the switch at £200 if the RRP is £280 especially when nowhere else seems able to discount?

It feels like a cheap trick to get people to sign up to their website. I'd be surprised if they actually offer any £200 switches for sale in the near future.

Fairly sure the answer is no;30495095 said:

This.

You have been able to sign up for the stock alerts for 2 weeks. Watch it go up in price towards release or only get stock 6 months down the line.

Wish it was an entire weekend rather than one hour slots but I guess it's good they're doing it. It'll be interesting to see how Nintendo's online servers cope with the load!

I don't class those as a new console, just a refresh. When the PS5 come too market you will see advertisements everywhere, just like the PS1 PS2 PS3 and PS4, where was the WiiU advertising? I don't remember seeing a single TV advert, I didn't see anything in my local GAME, nothing in newspapers absolutely nothing. Hell, even last October a guy in work asked me about the WiiU, he thought it was an add on for the wii, the console was 4 years old! Nintendo are awful at promoting there products and really solely on the Mario brand to shift units to uninformed 'casual' gamers, and those 'casual' gamers buy consoles for FIFA and COD nowadays.

I'm. It hating on Nintendo btw, I have owned every Nintendo console to date, and I plan on getting the Switch in the future, in fact the WiiU is my favourite console ever

Got to admit, i had a friend round last weekend pricing for getting work done in the house, i was playing Windwaker and he said "what the hell is that?" i explained it was the Wii U and i was playing zelda, he then said "Wait, they made another nintendo console after the wii? i've never heard of it" haha.

True but from a marketing point of view. Who is their target audience? Me and you, us gamers. People who are already into games, such as kids will know about the Switch. Yes, the Switch ad's have been non existent but sadly Nintendo has never seen the UK as an big customer. Same way Microsoft don't bother advertise their consoles on Japanese TV.

In their home land Japan and in the US, you can guarantee EVERYONE knows about the Switch. Many new adverts have been shown on Japanese TV, there was even a new one last week. Nintendo showed two Switch adverts in the US during the Super Bowl, one of the most watched television events in America, probably the world. We in the UK got nothing. Maybe if we had something like the World Cup, Euro's or Olympics this year then I'm sure Nintendo would have done something but we don't. So probably no point investing money for such a small country.

Let the internet spread the word about the Switch instead, like they did for the Nes Classic console. Nearly 3 months on since the release and no one can anyone find a Nes Classic without paying over the odd's.

Was going to mention the Super Bowl ad - as high profile as it gets. Tbh most adverts I watch are on YouTube anyway. I tend to skip TV ads as I record everything.

This and the fact that they may ramp up advertising once stock becomes available i.e. in the run up to christmas.
