*** Nintendo Switch ***

Thanks chaps.

I must admit I do like my eldests love for games, it's also great that he balances it with being an avid reader. He is a bit mouthy though, not a great moment when your son is advising you how best to approach a situation in a game. I know how my dad felt when I used to setup the VHS for him.

Folks, before I get my Switch setup I want to format my WiiU, is there anything else I need to do like unlinking the NNID somehow?
I plan to sell this Wii U, so any advice on what else I need to do aside from the standard "erase all content from the system menu" would be appreciated.

Speaking with me OH earlier. Going to keep my eyes pees for deals on things we want for the switch and gradually buy bits. Pro controllers, screen protector, case, joy cons etc...Even games. So when it comes to actually buying the console it's not such a huge outlay in one go.

It'll be partly torture, and partly satisfying :P

Might try out the very order tomorrow to see if I can get a Pro controller still. :p

Well, I spoke with a local game shop. They had a bunch of none collected pre order switches.

He said he will be issuing tickets to the first come first serve and then selling them from 11 onwards. I said I'll be there first thing so hopefully I'll get me a switch tomorrow!

Has anyone noticed in the interface, power saving options it says something like 'Prevent power saving during media playback'

Can only assume that's a good sign for those of us wanting the switch to be more of a tablet replacement.

I'm not sure if this is something I am only experiencing or others...

When you scroll down a menu or text, with the left joycon analogue stick, it generally scrolls at one speed, despite only SLIGHTLY nudging the stick down, it would still scroll at full speed.

Has anyone noticed this?

It's important to be able to accept criticism of the Switch and some of Nintendo's decisions. They are big enough and ugly enough to deal with it!

I've seen far too many examples of people resorting to antagonism to defend their purchase. It's unreasonable to expect a thread to consist solely of praise. You have to accept the rough with the smooth!

The Switch is by no means perfect, and Zelda is certainly not the be-all and end-all. No one can deny that they've had a lasting impact, but we must remain rational and objective. Nintendo are not infallible!
