*** Nintendo Switch ***

In portable mode (720 res) Zelda runs perfect in my experience but when docked there can be some frame rate issues now and again - noticed it mainly in areas with a lot I grass but not enough to spoil things.

I think that would be a fair guess, Bethesda might push it to 1080p docked but I doubt it.

Was looking forward to Skyrim until I played Zelda :)

Yea, I wouldn't mind 30fps, Skyrim doesn't need high frames and I'd rather have some eye candy. I've played Skyrim on every platform it's been out on, hundreds, if not thousands of hours have been poured into it. And the idea of creating another adventure (all be it, without mods :() on a portable device has me all giddy like a child.

I love my switch as a hand held console. Don't compare it to Ps4 pros or xbox and you will be satisfied.

It needs virtual console and some pokemon and then I'll be fully satisfied.

I love zelda and I'm happy with it. But I probably shouldn't have rushed to buy it cos the content isn't there yet.

Does anyone here use their Switch predominantly in the docked/console mode?
That is how I feel that I'd use one, my question is to those that do: Are you happy with how it looks/runs on your TV?

The above is the only thing that is holding me back, the more I read the more it seems that this is better used as a handheld and that it is largely underwhelming when used docked.

I really don't think It'd get used as a handheld at all in my house.
All thoughts/feedback gratefully received
TIA

Yes I do, although I did take it on a work trip recently.

Looks fine on the TV, Zelda is a bit laggy at times but for the most part it's fine.

Similar thoughts here. I'm considering it mobile console that can be plugged in if I want to rather than a replacement for a PS4. Looking forward to some VC content though!

Another +1 for the VC asap, now Zelda is done and dusted my Switch catalogue is looking pretty bare (IE: nothing).

I play it docked as well. Just hold Home on the controller and it turns on the console, amp and TV. Love it. Zelda does lose frames at times but it certainly is a beautiful looking game. I'm glad I got mine day one, Zelda is too good to wait for.

You missed out on 70% of the game though.

Not really, I finished more than half the shrines and did the main quest line including the 4 beasts. Unlocked the entire map etc etc, I don't think I missed out on 70% of the game, not even close.

What completion percentage are you on? Just out of interest.

Couldn't say, I moved the game on over the weekend after selling it.

I know the game adds a star next to your save after finishing it, and that a % becomes available but I didn't reload the save.

You believe what you want, but you've missed out on some of best bits of the game.
