*** Nintendo Switch ***

I used mine for a while without one with no problems. Taking it to France soon so I felt like I wanted to protect it a bit more for when I am on the move. Full sunlight on this with or without a protector isn't great but then I didn't expect it to be. Zelda can be hard to make out in sunlight because of the day/night cycle. Games like Shovel Knight are not too bad at all.

Is anyone not using a screen protector and is simply making do with the dock sock solution?

I don't use a screen protector just a sock and when I take it out the official case. Can't see how you can scratch it this way. I don't really like screen protectors but if I thought I would scratch it I would use one, just can't see it scratching personally.

I wouldn't.

The dock sock makes the screen press tighter against the dock, and even though it is cotton you will get bits of dust etc on there eventually and that combined with the pressure could scratch your screen.

The rubber coating on them makes that very tricky to do well.
Going to speak to a friend of mine about it who is an expert painter. He might know a way :)

Have seen it done online, definitely want to give it a go.

By the time I get around to getting a Switch they might have official green ones by then anyway...

I should mention I have no intention of using the Switch as a handheld. I might get a tempered glass protector as a precaution, though.

So, last night I setup both an American account and Japanese account. Both have loads of other games the UK doesn't. Thankfully I have access to an American bank account so I can buy stuff on the US shop.

If the console is region free, why don't they release all games at the same time?

I did that myself and fun tip, you can buy USA and Japanese top up cards to buy games if you dont have access to a foreign bank account. Sucks that the US has Binding of Issac when its clearly ready and is a pretty old game any ways now!

Case wise people are either going with the official one (which I have an I like it) or the Hori tough case.

I picked up the Hori tough case. I think the Nintendo one looks a bit smarter due to the cleaner look but wanted something a bit more rigid for when I travel with it for work.

Also Finally got Zelda! but I'm busy this weekend so won't get a chance to play until Wednesday I think :(

Sucks at the price! These Nintendo prices are really driving me away from the console. I've got 2 games, Zelda and Shovel Knight Treasure Trove. I really have to think about if I want to buy another game as they are just too over priced. If they don't come down in the next 6-8 weeks. I think I'll sell up.

I don't think the prices are coming down anytime soon. I've got MK8 coming which I paid £40 for and I don't mind that as I never had a Wii U. Binding of Isaac will be retail so there's a chance we could pick it up cheaper later on. I want it because it'll be perfect for the Switch but I am not paying full price for it. I already have Rebirth on the PS4. If it's less than £20 I'll buy it but no way at £30-£40.

I dont think anything will change though. Nintendo first party titles never drop in price and look at the prices of snes games on the 3DS e shop...£7.49? Big fat LOL at those prices and then you have to re-buy them every time you buy the latest console. They dont make it easy for themselves do they.

Yea, it's why I stopped using my 3DS, the prices just couldn't be justified... Hmmm, I'll finish Zelda and sell the console on then. Loving it but Nintendo are just too greedy.

You'd best sell up now then.

The e-store offering is truly dreadful :o

I may pick up shovel knight but £22 seems like a lot. Is it actually good value? We've been spoilt by Zelda I think...
