*** Nintendo Switch ***

Its good value but when Shovel Knight first came out it didn't have to extra content. Now it does they increased the price to £22 on all platforms including the PC, Xbox One and PS4.

The new campaigns will be free DLC for the Switch version (and other full price versions) too.

I'm really enjoying it too, quite a challenge to get all the collectables!

Yeah it's tough! Only got to level 5 and it took me awhile to get my head around the snakish gripping but I'm fine with it now. Music is great, it looks great and I'm loving the Rareware like charm of it.

I know, what I meant was they annouced the price increase a few months ago so you had a certain date to buy the game before they hiked the price. Sadily the cut off date was a day before the Switch release. So Switch owners didnt get a chance to buy it cheaper (£10.99 I think) which makes it eshop version look over priced.

Thanks for the nod, really chuffed with that and quick turnaround/delivery considering it's hand made etc

No screen protector? How has the condition of your Switch fared?

Just added a screen protector too, after messing up several attempts a chap on here sent me a spare and I got it on just fine

Until now though it's been fine I've just taken care with it, don't take it out the house and I'm the only user I just wanted to add the sock and protector just in case!

The anker power supply seems good , let the switch drain right down with the joycons and put it on charge last night, full charge and 4 lights still lit up on the battery pack ... happy days !

Played the Switch today! A shopping centre near me is having a Nostalgia gaming event on for the next couple of weeks. Was nice to actually try out the joy cons. Originally I played for about 5 minutes or so (had to go to the Cinema!) and got to hold the JC's in my hand, felt odd. Didn't feel overly small but then again I have small hands! Went to the movie, came out and went back and had a good half an hour on Zelda.

Joy cons felt better the second time round. Would be fine for on the go, felt very odd to stand there and literally let my hands hang by my side but definitely would want something better for longer play sessions. I was already set on a pro controller and now this hammered it down :p

Played Zelda for 30mins, great fun! Game ran well with a couple of minor frame rate drops but then I was looking for them...if I wasn't I wouldn't have noticed!

Told the missus, she just laughed at me :(

Cruel witch!

Ok so I picked one up and will unbox tomorrow, would my Wii U Joy pads work with the Switch?

Nope. Real damn shame too, almost the perfect controller is the WiiU pro controller had analogue triggers (the button layouts, etc you get used to). In my 100+ hours of Zelda so far, I've only needed to charge my WiiU Pro controller once... a shame that Nintendo dropped something so good in favour of shoving a ton of battery-unfriendly and not-always-useful features on the Switch Pro controller. And the price...

Depends on which area you played. Some towns and stuff are pretty bad, I've had moments at Hyrule Castle where the game just refused for a few seconds. That said, it's the WiiU version, but from what I've been told, the Switch version is pretty much the same. A disappointment, considering many sold their WiiU's to get a Switch for what they might have thought as the 'better' version of the game. When really both verisons are pretty much the same except for resolution.

Switch Zelda has been patched and the FPS issues are fixed. The pro controller battery life is insanely good. If you ever buy a Switch I'll look forward to your opinion of it. Until then..

It was the first 30 minutes of the game. So on the plateau.

Ive had a few areas of slow down pre-patch but nothing all that bad really, I've never had the full on freezes when fighting some people have reported, you would think it would happen to everyone.

In 100+ hours the only slowdown for me was big grassy areas, especially when you add some flame effects. None of it detracted from the game, my only complaint is that I can't wipe my memory and play it fresh all over again.
