*** Nintendo Switch ***

I used a US top-up card on my US account without issue so I'd assume the same with Japanese account wouldn't be a problem. I purchased Binding of Isaac and Has-Been Heroes and on my US account and it's be smooth sailing. I picked up a physical copy of Disgaea 5 from Amazon JP. 4 day delivery! Worked out around £62 all-in though.

Nice one. Might go that route as £12 extra for a hard copy isnt too bad really.

Just seen A new game being released NBA Playgrounds, a modern take on NBA Jam.
But its also coming to the switch

These are the type of games the Switch needs
Just hope it stays at its $20 dollar price tag

The DF post patch tests show average FPS in previous stress areas has moved from 25 to 29 FPS on Switch. No noticeable difference on Wii U.

I also saw a teardown of the Switch estimating a $257 cost of manufacture. Don't expect a price cut any time soon!

Thats what £220 - £230? (am just out ~£210)

Something severely wrong if thats the best deal Nintendo can do, absoltely stunned its anything like that for manufacture costs (maybe Nintendo need better deal makers/ sources of parts)

Also avoid tandem bicycles...

That just made me spit beer all over my monitor.........thanks!!!

Its only wrong if you, as an individual can go and buy every component and assemble it then sell it for the same price was making a better profit.

Still amazes me how this forum is full of so many experts when it comes to project managing of the R&D, manufacturing and supplying electronically consumer equipment. :p

So my joycons work 10+ ft away behind me in a different room, door open. This was fully charged. I take it I'm safe to assume mine are fine? :o

I just removed the wrist straps from my joycon... wrist straps?

It's much nicer to use now and they fit nicely into my case for some adhoc 2 player fun :)

... honestly I enjoyed Mipha's story more than the other champions :p.

Similarly, though it might have helped that it was the first 'race/DB' I came across and all the characters were often going on about her and the whole thing about 'Rito tradition'. Cos then doing the other ones afterwards felt like a cop-out as you realise that exactly the same thing happens and it's not as impressive. Revari came close though... only because of how much of a jerk and a strong character he was.

Saw a video of that Snake Pass game yesterday and I had no idea it was a pretty decent game... I guess there's a good multiplatform release on the Switch then. Something to tide folks over till the likes of Yooka-Laylee arrives.

Polygon reporting on it here. Apparently the joycons are pretty expensive in themselves http://www.polygon.com/2017/4/5/15195638/nintendo-switch-component-cost-estimate

You can gaurntee they have some agreement that they get parts reduced for x amount. So maybe not as much as that, but it's not uncommon for consoles to barely break even. The profit is made on software, and the rights of other games. Jeez Nintendo don't even own Pokemon but made $115 million from licensing fees on Pokemon Go. Can you imagine a pokemon game coming out early next year for this? Nintendo will be laughing all the way to the bank.

I get why people moan at the price, but for what the hardware does it's actually really not that bad VFM. Though this is all defendant on how many good quality games we get over the next few years.

Nintendo is the sole owner of the pokemon trademark.

Nintendo is the sole owner of the pokemon trademark.

So they are, but as far as I'm aware have no contribution of the making of. So therefore any money made is in licensing alone?

Unlike they do with most of their IPS. Zelda, Mario etc. Ok it seems after a little googling, it's not all that simple.

But my point remains, they put little effort into Pokemon for such a high return.

Unscrew the three small silver screws and then it's very straightforward.

Watch out for a small spring holding the white locking switch in place that wants to fly out though.

Think the flaws are more design and camera related. Looks like a 7/10 game so I might give it a go.

Edit - just read that they've released a pre-release patch which fixes some framerate and camera issues.
